Abstract

393,054. Dashpots. AUBERT, J., 41, Rue des Thermes, Enghien-les-Bains, France. April 9, 1932, No. 10229. Convention date, April 15, 1931. [Class 108 (iii).] A compressedgas servomotor comprises pistons 7, 8 mounted upon a rod 5 and fitting the cylinder 1. The piston 8 forms part of a dashpot, liquid being contained to a level x-x in the bottom of the cylinder and passages 27, 28, 29 controlled by a valve 22 connecting the opposite faces of the piston 8. A valve 10 seats upon the piston 8 and allows flow of liquid through the ports 9 during downward movement and through the seats 12 on the upward movement. The valve 22 is integral with a differential piston 37 and is biased to the open position by a spring 39. The upper and lower sides of the piston 7 are connected by passages 32, 34 and valves 35, 36, respectively, so that when gas is admitted to the servomotor the valve 22 is closed and the dashpot comes into action. A perforated shroud 13 is provided to prevent splashing of the dashpot oil. When gas is not supplied to the servomotor the valve 22 is open enabling the rod 5 to be moved by hand. The valve 10 and spring 11 may be mounted upon the lower face of the piston 8.
