251,920. Abbott, E. S., Bordewich, P. R., and Bordewich, C. T. Feb. 8, 1926. Force-feed lubricating.-In a twin-cylinder two stroke internal-combustion engine having a vertically-disposed crank shaft 2, lubricant is forced from the lower crank chamber 4 during the period of compression therein through a longitudinal groove 6 in the lower bearing 5, a passage 12, 13 in the shaft, and a recess 10 in the bearing to an external pipe 9, whence it is delivered to an annular recess 20 in the bearing 19 of the upper crank chamber 3. A passage 21 establishes communication between the recess 20 and the chamber 3, so that the suction in the latter chamber assists, the delivery of oil forced through the pipe 9 by the simultaneous compression in the chamber 4. The pipe 9 may lead to other parts of the engine or associated vehicle structum.
