Abstract
229,318. Michalk, O. Feb. 12, 1924, [Convention date]. Cam-actuated pumps ; revolving-cylinder pumps.-In a lubricating pump comprising a revolving cylinder a in which a plunger k is reciprocated by an axial cam, the ported conical end of the cylinder is pressed against its seat by the pressure of the oil in the delivery pipe # acting through a passage #<1> on a piston c fixed to the cylinder end. If there are several delivery pipes, they are separated from the pressure chamber e by non-return valves g, so that only the oil in the pipe having the highest pressure acts on the piston c. The valves g may be replaced by pistons h, as shown in Fig. 2, which act on the piston c to hold the cylinder to its seat. The ends of the pistons h and the portions of the piston c on which they act may be beveled, or the pistons h may press axially on the piston c. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), another form is described in which the piston c is integral with the cylinder a on the end remote from the conical end and the pressure oil enters a chamber behind the piston. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
