Convention date, Oct. 7, 1933. [Classes 12 (ii) and 12 (iii)] [See also Group XXVI] A crank-pin 4 immersed in lubricant in a sump 6 has a worm thread 5 formed on its end which, when the crank shaft 3 rotates, pumps lubricant through passages 9, 10, 12 in the connecting rod 11 to the gudgeon pin bearing. The flow of lubricant is controlled by a wick in the passage 12.
