Abstract

240,876. Johnson, C. G. Oct. 6, 1924, [Convention date]. Sliding doors. - A verticallysliding door, particularly for garages, comprises leaves hinged by means of rearwardly extending brackets 11 - - 13, the pintles of the hinges as well as pins carried by end brackets 10, 14 being- provided with guide-rollers 23 running in tracks 24 which guide the door into an open position over the doorway. The brackets 10 - - 14 progressively decrease in length and the tracks are correspondingly inclined so that the door closes with a wedging action against the frame. The door may be counterbalanced by spring-controlled ropes 28. The leaves of the door are rabbeted at their meeting edges. The tracks consist of channel-members having inwardly inclined edges engaging the guide-rollers.
