Abstract

7250. Gare, T. March 23. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-Relates to band tyres, and consists in placing india-rubber or other cushioning-material between the tyre band and the rim of the wheel. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, segments c of rubber are placed between the flange securing bolts e. Fig. 4 shows wedge-shaped segments g, h of india-rubber &c. The segments may be made tubular to increase their resilience. As shown in Fig. 9, the band may be made of T-section. As shown in Fig. 5, the india-rubber cushion c may be pushed outwards by a thin steel hand i and screws k. Transverse ribs on the band and rim prevent creeping.
