25,590. Mitchell, J. I. May 27, 1909. Spring wheels, tyres elastic other than pneumatic ; felloes or rims.-Relates to wheels comprising a rubber ring surrounded by a rigid outer tread. The rubber ring c, Fig. 1, with the outer rigid ring A, is mounted on the felloe by means of a rim comprising two annular parts c, c<2>, with a bevelled contacting surface c<1> secured by bending over one part at c<3>. In a modification, a rubber ring is mounted directly on the felloe binding-ring and is secured laterally by two angle-rings shrunk on to the felloe. In a double-tread wheel, the tyres are secured between two L-shaped rings m, shrunk on the felloe, and two detachable side flanges n ; or the rubber rings are mounted directly on the felloe and a distance-ring is placed between them. A rubber tyre may be interposed between the twin treads.
