Tyres, non-elastic, and rims; spring wheels with sectional outer guided members.-In composite wheels comprising a metal tread d, Fig. 2, lying on oak or like blocks f supported on the felloe b and secured by bolts, the drive is transmitted from the inner part of the wheel to the tread by centrally-disposed pins e, cast in one with or secured to the tread and adapted to slide in bosses c on the felloe. The tread comprises diagonallydisposed sections with spacing - grooves to provide a road - gripping surface. According to the Provisional Specification, a resilient packing such as felt, rubber, a rubber substitute, or metal springs may be used instead of wood.
