Bowden mechanism.-An adjustable extension of the sheath or outer cover of a Bowden or like transmission device is provided by a close coiled spring d slipped on to the end of the sheath a and carrying between the coils a plate or other member f acting as a stop or abutment for the sheath a, its position being adjusted by rotation. The member f may be formed as shown in Fig. 2, wings f<1> providing for manipulation and lugs f<2> engaging the inner side of the spring to position the member therein. The spring d is provided with a stop or abutment e threaded on the cable and bearing against thenipple c or against a control lever or the like.
