173,374. Humber, Ltd., Cole, J. A., and Buckingham, F. J. Oct. 21, 1920. Folding and collapsable seats.-A tip-up seat B is hinged near one edge to detachable uprights A<2>, A<3> of unequal height and has a folding support E hinged near the opposite edge and caused by a connecting-link E<4> to fold beneath the seat when the seat is tipped sideways. The arrangement is adapted for use in connection with the front seats of saloon-bodied motor vehicles. A supplementary leg F pivoted at F<2> to the side of the seat remote from the support E and connected by a link F<3> to the hinged back-rest C prevents the seat when in use from being turned about the hinges A<5>. When the back-rest is folded down, the leg F is caused to fold up.
