Abstract

237,670. Barker & Co. (Coachbuilders), Ltd., and Robins, F. J. May 13, 1924. Folding seats; rests, back; spring supports.-Seats with front and rear legs pivoted to a base or platform, and folding thereon when collapsed so that the platform may be tilted to an upright position, have the rear legs 2 connected to the platform 5 by links 7, 8 which steady the seat when unfolded and lock it in position when in use. The platform is held in its tilted position by a compression spring 19 in a telescopic stay 20, 21 connected to the platform by a link 23. The seat back is telescopic, and is shortened when folded by links 17, connecting rear extensions 18 of the seat frame 3 and the upper sliding portion 16 of the seat back.
