Abstract

195,207. Thornton, T. R.., and George, J. Jan. 25, 1922. Folding-seats for motor-cars &c. The front and rear legs 2, 3 supporting the seat are pivoted to a base 1, so as to fold down into the plane of the floor, and the member 11 supporting the back is pivoted at 10 to a rearward extension 9 of the top member 8 connecting the legs, and is connected by a link 13 with the rear leg 3. The member 11 may have a downward extension 12 resting against the upper part of the rear leg 3. The base 1 is hinged at 20 to the floor so that the folded seat may be tilted up as shown in Fig. 1; or it may be slid forward in guides into a recess.
