Abstract

Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In a twostroke-cycle oil engine having, terminal exhaust ports, the admission of compressed air is controlled either by a pair of inclined inlet valves 21, or by a row of piston-controlled ports located above the exhaust ports. The combustion chamber 11 is shaped as shown in Fig. 1, an edge 22 being provided at the termination of the opening 10 leading from the cylinder into the combustion space. A projection 9 on the piston enters the opening 10 in the combustion chamber, air from the compression cbamber 18 being forced into the combustion space through an annular passage around the projection 9. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the construction of the fuel spraying device P. The device is also described in detail in Specification 127,249. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Specification 127,251 is referred to.
