Abstract

194,382. Bose, C. Dec. 8, 1921. Valves.-As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, air is forced into the crank case of a two-stroke engine through a valve c and is swept by the piston through a transfer passage d having a carburettor jet, and past a valve g<1> into the cylinder. The valve c comprises conical discs c<1>, b<2> which are fixed to the crank case and crank shaft respectively and have registering ports. The valve g' is closed by a spring g<5> and opened by rod g<3> and a cam on the crank shaft. In a modification, Fig. 3, an exhaust valve m is operated mechanically.
