Abstract

141,701. Bernaudin, G., and Bernaudin (nÚe Le Roy). A. April 11, 1919, [Convention date]. Spring devices.-In a shock-absorbing device for the front forks of bicycles, motor-cycles, &c., comprising levers 4, pivoted at 2 to the ends of the ordinary rigid fork limbs 1 and carrying the wheel axle 8, the levers are mounted upon bushings 5 between washers 6, 6<1> on the pins 2, so that, when the nuts 7 are tightened to effect the secure connexion of the levers to the fork limbs, the levers retain their freedom to turn about the bushings. The axle 8 is non-rotatably secured to the levers by the provision of flats 9 on the axle ends for engagement by correspondingly apertured washers 10 secured by pins 11 to the levers. Tension springs 13 connected to clips 15 on the fork limbs control the motion of the levers.
