Forks; spring devices.-The rake of the fork is independently adjustable without moving the steering-head or varying the strength or leverage of the springs, when such are employed, or the tension of the driving chain, &c. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the upper link (shown dotted) is replaced by an eccentrically slotted quadrant a. The lower link b may be similarly replaced. In the form shown in Fig. 7, the upper end of the fork 2 is pivoted to a nut 10 which may be adjustably clamped on one of the parts 7 of a telescopic spring fitting pivoted to the steering-head 3. Fig. 8 shows a form where the lugs 18 for the upper ends of the fork are carried by a slotted piece 17 which may be adjustably bolted to the clamp 14 on the steering column 15, and Fig. 9 shows a form where the front wheel axle is adjustable in a slot 22 in a piece 20 carried by the fork 21.
