1416143 Sanitary closets ARMITAGE WARE Ltd 6 July 1973 [8 July 1972] 32093/72 Heading E1C In a water-flushed sanitary closet of the type having two successive traps in the pan outlet and wherein air is sucked from the inter air space 52 between the traps, to start a syphonic discharge of the pan, by an extraction tube 44, the upper part 46 of which passes within a venturi tube to a suction head 40 having ports 50, the venturi has at its lower end a skirt portion 38 providing a larger diameter extension beyond the lower end of the venturi proper. The skirt is preferably cut away at one or more places 40 to provide a lateral port in the chamber 54 leading to the flushing rim of the pan to direct the water and assist its flow through the venturi. An upper extension of the skirt may be screw-threaded, as shown, for mounting purposes. The extraction tube 44, 46 is supported by coupling member 34, which has spoke-like arms 36 by which it is push-fitted within the venturi skirt 38. The upper end 10 of the venturi, which consists of a number of parts of moulded plastics, is push-fitted into the flush pipe 50.
