Abstract

1367081 Friction clutches; securing rollerson shafts AGFA-GEVAERT 22 Sept 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 46547/70 Headings F2C and F2U A series of axially spaced sleeves 31 for carrying web winding cores 16 are journalled on a winding shaft 20 which carries friction segments 26 ... 29 that are radially movable against the bias of return springs 30 into driving engagement with the sleeves 31 by supplying pressure air to pneumatic tubes 23. Each sleeve 31 carries a series of rollers 45 in inclined recesses 60 which together with a surrounding winding core 16 form a one-way clutch. The rollers 45 are carried by rings 46 secured to the sleeves 31 and are biased by a spring 47 into engagement with the surrounding core 16.
