Abstract

1,204,251. Printing machines. DYMO INDUSTRIES Inc. 26 Feb., 1968 [23 March, 1967], No. 9243/68. Heading B6C. The printing drum 12 of a duplicating machine is readily removed from the machine by axially disengaging frusto-conically shaped supporting members 40, 42 from similarly shaped recesses 64 formed in the ends of the cylinder. Cylinder pulley drive means 18 are associated with the supporting member 40 and the drive to the drum is effected through an axle 20, a rubber annular band 54 and a circular rubber disc 100. The supporting member 42 is axially withdrawable from the drum through the.release of a nut-like member 80 which is screw-threaded on a sleeve-bushing 74 rotatable with the member 42. Partial unscrewing of the member 80 causes disengagement of the drive means from the drum as is illustrated in Fig. 4 to allow rotary movement of the drum relative to the drive means. Complete unscrewing of the member 80 allows a spring 90 to completely withdraw the member 42 from the drum in order to allow its removal from the machine.
