Abstract

1309680 Releasable fastenings COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON HOUSTONHOTCHKISS BRANDT 12 June 1970 [13 June 1969] 28697/70 Heading E2A A fastening device comprises a unitary member forming a bolt 1, a spring 2 and a stop 3, in combination with a casing for receiving the unitary member, such that the bolt projects from the casing by an amount determined by the stop abutting a part 10 of the casing and can be retracted into the casing thereby tensioning the spring. The bolt as shown slides in a housing defined by a wall 7 and the part 10 of the casing. The bolt can be retracted by manually bending the spring but if it is desired to use the device as a push-pull catch the keeper which the bolt engages has an inclined surface so that a pull on the door can move the bolt to releasing position.
