Abstract

1421541 Fasteners C G SMITH 12 July 1973 [31 May 1972] 25452/72 Heading E2A A fastener comprises a base member 10 attachable to a door or window frame, a securing member 13 mounted on the base member 10 for restrained movement relative thereto, and having a handle 14 connected thereto, and securing means 17, 18 mounted on the base member 10 for engagement with the handle 14 upon pivotal movement of the handle into a predetermined position relative to the base member 10. The handle 14 is provided with an aperture 19 of a shape complementary to that of the securing means. The profile of the securing means is irregular so that once it has passed through the aperture 19 it may be rotated to hold the handle in its predetermined position. In a further embodiment the securing member is in the form of a slidable, cylindrical bolt the handle extending laterally from one end thereof.
