Abstract

Rising pressure in tank 22 acts via lines 5, 4 on piston 12 and eventually depresses the latter against spring 14 to open valve 15 whereby fluid which has reached the chamber above valve 17, via 5, 6, 19, filter 18 and restrictor 16, can exhaust via 32. Valve 17 thereby rises to connect the space above piston 10 to exhaust via 3, 20, 34, 32 so that valve 8 rises to vent the tank. By closing valves 25-27 and opening valve 24; auxiliary control of valve 8 can be effected by means of valve 23; also, unit 2 can be removed for testing. Buffer container 6 protects unit 2 from shocks caused by rapid pressure variations.
