Abstract
1,081,977. Weighing apparatus. H. TEVES, E.A. TEVES and M. TAUSEND [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINEN - UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM GES]. Jan. 5, 1965 [Jan. 10, 1964], No. 390/65. Heading G1W. The weight of a load on a lorry is determined by providing a plurality of cylinders 1, 2, 3 so arranged that the platform of the lorry supporting the load bears on pistons 4, 5, 6 movable in the cylinders in such a way that liquid in cylindrical chambers 16, 17, 18 is urged to actuate capsules 9, 10, 11 connected to a gauge 8 whereby an indication of the load is obtained on the gauge 8. In operation, the pistons 4, 5, 6 are urged to lift the platform until outlets 21 are opened by applying liquid pressure to the chambers 16, 17, 18 either using a number of pumps 12, 13, 14 having a common drive 15 or using a pressure accumulator (24) Fig. 2 (not shown) connected to a valve (26). The load is then applied to the platform so that the pistons 4, 5, 6 close the outlets 21 and force fluid into the capsules 9, 10, 11 which actuate the gauge 8. The gauge may be arranged to operate an aural or visual warning device which indicates excessive loading of the platform.
