Abstract

1,242,536. Pipe connections. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. 28 Nov., 1968 [2 Dec., 1967], No. 54913/67. Heading F2G. A connection for flexibly connecting two ducts includes a thrust-relief head having a part spherical support surface 10 and supported by a stem 5 projecting axially from the centre of a spider 7 in an end member 1 and accommodated in the cavity of a socket member 11, 12 carried by a stem 6 extending from the centre of a spider secured to an end member 2 which is connected with the member 1 by a bellows duct section 3. The socket member has a partspherical support surface 14 for co-operation with the part-spherical surface 10 and a central opening 15 which accommodates, with clearance, the stem 5. As shown, the head comprises a part-spherical portion 9 secured by riveting to the stem 5 and the annular portion 10, the socket part 12 being screwed on to the part 11.
