Abstract

899,964. Expansion joints. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd. April 21, 1961 [April 21, 1960], No. 14000/60. Class 99(1). A connection for two sections of duct 1, 2 comprises a piston member 4 for attachment to section 2 and cylinder member 3 for attachment to section 1, the piston 4 having a partspherical outer surface 6 engaging with a cylindrical surface 5 with freedom for axial movement, the spherical surface being formed with at least one groove in which is mounted a piston ring engaging the cylindrical surface 5. A groove may be formed on each side of the region of maximum diameter, at least one piston ring being mounted in each groove.
