Abstract

1,181,263. Load handling pallets. ASHTON CONTAINERS Ltd. 18 June, 1968 [21 Sept., 1967], No; 42928/67. Heading B8H. A disposable pallet of stiff but foldable material such as corrugated fibre board comprises a blank 10 with twelve transverse creases to form thirteen panels. Alternate panels 12 are apertured in two spaced locations 15, 16 the remaining panels 13, 14 being unapertured. The pallet is assembled by folding the blank 10 to provide a series of transverse channels of rectangular cross-section, the two sets of apertures 15, 16 being aligned. Four blanks (25), Fig. 2 (not shown), are folded to provide a pair of strengthening members each of rectangular channel formation, Fig. 5 (not shown). As shown in Fig. 3, one member 21 is is in position and stapled or stitched to end panels 13, the other member of the pair being shown partially in place at 22. One of the other pair of members is shown at 23 partially inserted in the apertures 15. An alternative form of strengthening member. Fig. 4 (not shown), is folded from a blank creased into seven panels. The strengthening members need not be of corrugated fibre board nor of rectangular cross-section. Only one strengthening member may be employed (not shown).
