Abstract

1,164,878. Umbrella handles. WALKER LITHERLAND PLASTICS Ltd. 9 May, 1968 [5 April, 1967], No. 15637/67. Heading A4P. An umbrella is provided with a synthetic plastics strap-handle 9, comprising a loop 11 with an integral annular root portion 10 through which passes a member 6 securing the handle proper 1 to the neck of the umbrella 3. The annular portion may be flat, as shown, with a spacer 8 or cupped, with the wall of the cup surrounding the end part of the handle proper. The handle 1 may be attached to the umbrella via a neck member 3, by means of a screw-threaded rod 6; the umbrella shaft 7 being force fitted into a bore 4 at the other end of the neck.
