Abstract

1,126,049. Inductors. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. 19 Oct., 1965 [19 Oct., 1964], No.44252/65. Heading HIT. An inductor comprises a winding 2 with a magnetic yoke member 1 at each end of the winding, the yoke members being urged to compress the winding by tie members 4 made of bundles of laminated sheets. The tie members 4 may have longitudinal slots in the parts surrounded by the winding to reduce eddy currents and may be of non-magnetic steel. The tie members may be secured to supplementary cross-members (6), (Fig. 3, not shown), provided with pressure screws (7) by which pressure on the top yokes may be varied through main cross-members (3). The choke may be air cored or have a magnetic centre limb formed by packets of laminations separated by air gaps (Fig. 4, not shown).
