Abstract
617,642. Transformers and inductances. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Sept. 20, 1946, No. 28288. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1945. [Class 38 (ii)] A welding transformer and associated choke have a common core column a passing through all transverse yokes b ... b<SP>3</SP> of which one b<SP>2</SP> carries flux common to both. The magnetic circuits are completed by longitudinal yokes c which are clamped by the aid of rings g<SP>1</SP>, g<SP>2</SP> and press bolts to faces on the transverse yokes b<SP>2</SP>, b<SP>3</SP> so that their laminations lie parallel to radial planes. The choke winding f is carried by the transverse yoke b, which may be supported by a spider h and i guided or screwing in a control opening of the core column a, composed of radial and filling laminations. The inductance of the choke may be varied by movement within of the yoke b, the free portions of the yokes c. Air gaps occur between the elements b<SP>1</SP> and c and may be arranged between the elements b<SP>2</SP> and c by the interposition of insulating strips.
