Abstract

1,114,867. Double windows. H. SHAPIRA. 13 Oct., 1965. No. 43401/65. Heading E1J. An auxilliary window for converting an existing window 6 into a double window comprises an aluminium channel section frame I securable to the existing frame 6 by screws 8, with a sealing strip 7 of plastic foam polyurethane between the frames 1 and 6 and two or more slidable sashes having channelled side edges 4 which are guided by top and bottom flanges la of the frame 1 and engage the flange of the side stiles when closed. The sashes may slide horizontally or vertically and the inner vertical members of the shashes meet in a drought-proof manner.
