Abstract

1,113,589. Thread guide. MASCHINENFARRIK RIETER A.G. 29 July, 1966 [30 July, 1965], No. 34129/66; Heading D1J. A thread guide arrangement for a winding machine comprises a drum 6 having a continuous groove 7 in its periphery, mounted on a rotatable shaft, and a guideway 10 pivotally mounted in a plane extending through the axis of drum 6. The guideway has a longitudinally extending slot 11 for reciprocally guiding a thread guide 15 mounted therein the slot 11 has an enlarged opening 17 near one end for the passage of the thread guide 15 therethrough. After passing through the guide the thread is wound onto a drum-driven rotating spool, see Fig. 1 (not shown). In order to facilitate replacing worn thread guides, preferably the drum 6 includes a discontinuous groove 8 one end of which communicates with the continuous groove 7. The guide 15 located in the discontinuous groove 8 when the guideway 10 has been pivoted toward the drum 6, The guide 15 is directed into the continuous groove 7 during the rotation of the drum. The discontinuous groove 8 can be wider than the continuous groove 7. The guideway can be pivoted at end 13 and have a snap-lock at the other end, see Fig. 5 (not shown).
