Abstract

1,108,535. Knitting-machines. H. STOLL. G. STOLL, E. STOLL, E. STOLL, J. STOLL, A. STOLL, R. E. STOLL, and M. STOLL. 27 April, 1966 [15 May, 1965], No. 18330/66. Heading D1C. In a multi-section flat machine in which the cam carriages are coupled to move to and fro together the drive effects variation of the length and speed of the stroke and corresponding adjustments of the thread guide a limiters and cam box pattern slide. The cam carriages are attached to an endless chain 4 oscillated via suitable transmission from shaft 12, as described in U.K. Specification 798,781 (see Division XXIV).. An indexing shaft (18 Fig. 2 not shown), rotated by a selectively operable ratchet and pawl mechanism (23-5), effects adjustment of the drive reversers 14, 14' thread guide limiters (42) and the cam box pattern slide (32). At the end of a sequence of operations the indexing shaft is returned to its original orientation.
