Abstract

1,024,680. Self - propelled wheel chairs. EVEREST & JENNINGS Inc. Feb. 9, 1965, No. 5669/65. Addition to 925,699. Heading B7H. In a self-propelled wheel chair comprising as in the parent Specification two side frames each having mounted thereon a drive wheel driven from a separate electric motor through a belt entrained around a drive rim on the wheel and a pulley on the motor, each motor 4 is displaceable to tension the belt 7 on parallelogram links 9, 10 actuated by a hand lever 17 through a toggle link 18. The links 9, 10 are adjustably mounted on the side frame 1 by means of a sliding member 8 positioned along a frame member 12 by an adjustable abutment 14.
