Abstract

1,240,782. Traction table. M. DRAUX. 25 July, 1969 [16 Oct., 1968], No. 37432/69. Heading A5R. [Also in Division A4] A table for therapeutic treatment comprises a frame 2, pivotably mounted on a beam 41 supported in the flanges 23 (22) of a pedestal 1 which is adjustable in height; and a vibratory mechanism. The table-top is formed of a plurality of panels 3, 4, 5 freely and individually slidable along the table on sliding runs, but limited by retractable abutments (101). The frame also carries a head rest 9 at one end and a foot rest 8 at the other, both of which are adjustable vertically and horizontally with respect to the frame, the foot rest carrying straps for attachment of a patient to the table as do the panels. The vibratory unit 12 may be fixed at the foot or the head of the table. The unit 12 is driven by an electric motor (228) which causes an oblique faced plate (234) to rotate, which imparts rapid reciprocating motion to a crossbar (198) through a plate (221) and vibrating member (197). The ankles of the patient being attached to the bar (198) the patient is subjected to rapid traction.
