La présente invention concerne le domaine des systèmes informatiques et électroniques qui sont embarqués à bord des véhicules automobiles pour améliorer l’ergonomie et le confort des véhicules ainsi que la sécurité de la conduite. L’invention porte en particulier sur un procédé de fourniture, par un système informatique embarqué à bord d’un véhicule automobile, d’au moins une indication visant à alerter dans l’habitacle du véhicule de l’existence d’un danger. L’invention concerne également un système informatique mettant en œuvre un tel procédé. L’invention s’applique, notamment, aux voitures et aux poids-lourds.The present invention relates to the field of computer and electronic systems which are embedded on board motor vehicles to improve the ergonomics and comfort of vehicles as well as driving safety. On sait que certains véhicules automobiles actuels sont équipés d’appareillages informatiques et électroniques qui fournissent des fonctionnalités d’aide à la conduite, notamment pour assurer de manière autonome le guidage des véhicules dans certaines situations de conduite particulières. On sait aussi que certains de ces appareillages permettent d’alerter les conducteurs lorsque des situations de danger existent, par exemple lorsque la proximité avec un véhicule qui précède descend au-dessous d’une valeur seuil préétablie, et que ces alertes sont généralement fournies dans l’habitacle des véhicules uniquement sous forme visuelle et/ou sonore, en particulier au moyen des écrans et/ou des haut-parleurs des interfaces homme-machine qui équipent la plupart des véhicules actuels. On sait de plus que certains de ces appareillages d’aide à la conduite actuels procèdent généralement en rendant la main au conducteur, c’est-à-dire en se désactivant d’eux-mêmes, lorsqu’ils établissent qu’une situation de danger existe, par exemple lorsqu’ils établissent que la complexité de l’environnement de conduite est telle qu’elle empêche leur fonctionnement de manière sûre. Mais il s’avère que, dans de telles situations, le conducteur du véhicule est généralement alerté au moyen d’alertes sonores et/ou visuelles et il ne dispose alors que de très peu de temps pour reprendre la main, car ces systèmes ne sont bien souvent pas configurés pour alerter le conducteur suffisamment longtemps avant que la situation de danger ne se présente, et ce à cause du fait qu’ils appuient généralement leur fonctionnement uniquement sur des appareils de détection tels que des caméras qui ont une portée de détection relativement faible, portée qui peut même être réduite du fait de conditions climatiques détériorées (e.g. pluie, neige, brouillard, etc.). De cette manière, l’invention vise à améliorer non seulement l’ergonomie et le confort des véhicules automobiles mais aussi à maximiser la sécurité de la conduite autonome ou semi-autonome.The invention aims to overcome these drawbacks.
