CONSISTE EN HACER REACCIONAR UN ESTER ALILICO DE UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO, O UN ETER ALILICO DE UN FENOL, CON PIRROLIDINA O PIPERIDINA, EN PRESENCIA DE UN CATALIZADOR A BASE DE UN COMPLEJO DE PALADIO ORGANICO SOLUBLE, QUE TIENE UN LIGANDO FOSFINA DE COORDINACION, TAL COMO TETRASQUIS(TRIFENILFOSFINA)PALADIO; SEPARAR LA PARTE ALILO Y RECUPERAR EL ACIDO CARBOXILICO O EL FENOL LIBRES. LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE C5JC Y 30JC DURANTE 10 MINUTOS A 4 HORAS. TIENE APLICACIONES PARA LA DESALILACION DE DERIVADOS DE BETA-LACTAMA, TALES COMO PENICILINAS, CEFALOSPORINAS Y CARBAPENEMS.
