Abstract

Procedimiento para la obtención de poliisobutileno de bajo peso molecular, altamente reactivo, con un peso molecular medio Mn de 500 hasta 5000 Dalton y un contenido de enlaces dobles terminales de más del 80 % en mol, mediante polimerización de isobuteno o corrientes de hidrocarburos que contienen isobuteno, en la fase líquida, y con la ayuda de un catalizador a base de un complejo de trifluoruro de boro, a temperaturas de 40 hasta +20º C y a una presión de 1 hasta 20 bar, caracterizado porque a) la polimerización se realiza hasta un contenido remanente en la mezcla de reacción de menos del 2 % en peso de isobuteno, referido a la cantidad total de las corrientes alimentadas, o se elimina cerca del final de la polimerización isobuteno remanente hasta que el contenido remanente sea menor que el 2 % en peso, b) se enriquece el catalizador a base de un complejo de trifluoruro de boro, que se obtiene en lo anterior en forma de gotas, en fase dispersa y/o coherente, c) se reciclan las fases ricas en complejo a la polimerización, d) se compensan las pérdidas de catalizador mediante adición de trifluoruro de boro y, en caso dado, de formadores de complejos.
