Definitions
- the present invention relates to a rotary piston internal combustion engine, with an essentially circular cylindrical compression space and one circular cylindrical work space, being in the compression space and in the work space
- Rotary pistons are arranged, which together around an axis of compression space and work space are rotatable, being in the compression space and in the work space
- Sliders are provided which are arranged to be movable in the radial direction to lie sealingly on the surface of the respective rotary piston, and being on the circumference a first exhaust opening is provided in the work area.
- Internal combustion engines after Rotary piston principle are particularly advantageous because they do not have reciprocating pistons have, whereby a quiet run and high speeds can be achieved.
- a rotary piston internal combustion engine in a partition is arranged through which the working space is separated from the compression space is, and wherein oval rotary pistons are arranged in the compression chamber and work space are that rotate about an axis concentric to the compression space and work space. Compression and drive is achieved in that a substantially radially movable Slide rests sealingly on the surface of the respective rotary piston.
- the work space is in the expansion ratio of the gas mixture larger than the compression space.
- Such a rotary piston internal combustion engine is known from DE-A 43 05 669.
- DE-A 43 05 669 are there a smaller compression space and a larger work space are assigned to the compression and the combustion of the sucked gas mixture and the exhaust of the exhaust gas guarantee.
- motors of a similar design are, for example, in DE-C 387 287, in DE-C 404 080, in DE-A 14 76 672, in FR-A 2 083 703 or in GB-A 1 469 295 disclosed.
- the object of the present invention is so the internal combustion engine described above to further develop that a new control for the volume of the work space, an improved Connection control between compression area and work area and an improved Sealing between slide, roller and rotary lobe is possible to ensure optimal operation to realize under different operating conditions.
- this object is achieved in that further exhaust openings in the work area are provided, which can be closed by exhaust valves, which exhaust valves Can be closed and opened one after the other via an adjusting device.
- the volume of the working space with further exhaust openings and the exhaust valves connected is essential to the invention that the volume of the working space with further exhaust openings and the exhaust valves connected. Depending on the position of the exhaust valves the effective volume of the work space by closing or opening the further exhaust openings can be enlarged or reduced.
- the exhaust valves are designed as rotary valves, the Axes are essentially parallel to the axis of the working space and the compression space. In this way, actuation of the exhaust valves is possible in a particularly simple manner.
- the adjusting device in turn is designed as a rotary slide valve , which is preferably connected to the exhaust valves via driver levers stands. In this way, reliable actuation of the exhaust valves is achieved.
- a preferred embodiment of the present invention provides that on the outer Exhaust manifold is provided around the circumference of the working space, which is the first exhaust opening connects to the other exhaust ports.
- connection control valves are designed as rotary slide valves is particularly advantageous are in the connection openings on the partition between the compression space and the work space are arranged, and their axes are substantially radial to the axis of work space and compression space. In this way, the connection control valves are operated possible in a particularly easy manner.
- driver grooves which preferably via driver with the connection control valves in Connect, on which rotary lobes are provided. This way it becomes a reliable one Actuation of the connection control valves achieves that of the connection control valves are rotatable in two opposite directions by the rotary lobes, and thereby be opened or closed.
- the two slides carry rollers at their tips that over Contact strips and leaf springs are sealed.
- the seal between Slider, roller and rotary piston are improved.
- the sliders are on by the dividing wall and the support disks are guided on both sides, which is particularly important, since during the work cycle relatively large expansion forces act on one side of the burned gas on the slide. This way the wear minimized.
