Definitions

  • the invention is directed to a pinstripe, in particular a fixed comb for textile preparation machines and the like, comprising at least one row of needles fixed between two cover plates, the needle tips projecting beyond the inner edge of the cover plates by a certain amount, forming free passages between them the pinstrip is associated with a cleaning device for removing deposits that settle in the free passages, and a method for cleaning a corresponding pinstrip.
  • Such pinstripes can be arranged on different types of textile combs.
  • they are used as so-called fixed combs in combing machines for wool or synthetic fibers on the one hand and cotton on the other used.
  • the fixed comb must accomplish the cleaning of the fiber parts which are not detected by a circular comb arranged in front of the fixed comb in the direction of the fiber beard.
  • fixed combs are regularly heavily loaded and impurities in the wool or cotton, which can consist of straw parts or nits, are deposited on them. Short fibers or impurities then settle in the gaps between the flat needles, which extend in the longitudinal direction.
  • the cleaning blades or other cleaning elements must carry out a linear movement or the fixed comb, if it is arranged to be movable, must be guided past the cleaning elements when it is pulled back. Since the needles in the fixed comb strips are hardened and the cleaning elements must also be hardened, there is friction between cleaning elements and needles, which can lead to burrs forming on the needles. In any case, there are inevitable signs of wear.
  • the object of the invention is to create a pinstripe and a cleaning method for the latter, whereby a problem-free, gentle cleaning which makes machine stopping unnecessary, in particular also in cotton combing machines, with high operational reliability and reasonable design effort is achieved.
  • a pinstripe which comprises at least one air duct in order to guide an air stream for cleaning the free passages through it or past it.
  • Such an air flow can be triggered both by applying a negative or positive pressure.
  • the air flow provided in accordance with the invention reliably prevents larger amounts of contaminants from settling without the machine having to be interrupted for manual intervention and without mechanical wear and tear being caused by the cleaning.
  • mechanical cleaning arrangements it is also possible to use such a fixed comb in cotton combing machines in which, due to the restricted space Conditions previously it was generally not possible to clean the combs during operation.
  • At least some of the air channels are formed by an extension of the free passages between the needle tips in the direction of the area between the cover plates. This ensures that, starting from a source of compressed air or negative pressure, the air flow is passed through each free passage, so that it is ensured that the entire comb is cleaned evenly.
  • a first cover plate when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the needle, a first cover plate is shorter than the other, second cover plate, its inner edge running in the region of the beginning of the air ducts, and that an air guide plate extends outside the first cover plate, forming an Discharge closed air chamber extends into the area of the inner edge of the second cover plate.
  • This results in a forced air which is fed through the air chamber formed between the first cover plate and the air baffle to the air channels so that nozzle-like air passage openings are formed between the second cover plate and the air baffle and the different needles, so that the free passages between the needles can be cleaned by targeted air flows.
  • cover plates it should be noted that although covers made of sheet metal are generally used, the invention relates to covers or embeddings made of plastic, if provided.
  • each needle being designed as an embossed part and being additionally embossed on both sides in the area of the needle tips, so that the needle thickness in the area of the tips is reduced compared to the remaining shaft area, it can advantageously be provided that the embossing extends beyond the tip area , so that air channels are formed by the extended embossing area between the tip area and the shaft area.
  • the length of the air channels formed in this way is such that they are approximately 15 to 100%, in particular 60%, of the free needle board, i.e. of the peak area.
  • the free needle board i.e. of the peak area.
  • An extremely advantageous side effect when using a compressed air flow in the arrangement according to the invention is that the fiber beard, which is clamped in the pliers of the combing machines, is pressed against the circular comb segment. As a result, the fiber beard can penetrate the circular comb segment more easily.
  • an additional air outlet opening can be arranged in the region of the needle tips, using the compressed air supply which is provided anyway.
  • an air chamber in particular in the case of double needle strips which comprise at least two rows of needle strips running parallel to one another, it can be expedient for an air chamber to be arranged between the two rows of needles. Such an air chamber then guides an air flow to the free passages of the two rows of needles or away from them.
  • the above-mentioned object is also achieved by a method for cleaning a pinstrip, according to which it is provided that the pinstrips are cleaned by compressed air.
  • compressed air can be tapped in a particularly simple manner.
  • compressed air can be provided by bottles and the like.
  • a particularly good cleaning effect is achieved by impinging air on the pinstrip.
  • Such an impulse-like action acts as a back and forth sweeping of the individual contamination particles and leads to them being reliably released.
  • the air pulses in dependence on the comb play or the movements an optionally assigned pliers or another coordinated driven machine element of the combing machine are triggered.
  • the compressed air pulses are timed in such a way that the blown-out impurities are taken along by the subsequent work cycle of the circular comb, ie a compressed air pulse may no longer be emitted when the take-off rollers are pulling off.
  • a conventional pinstrip shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a series of needles 1a which are arranged between a first cover plate 2a and a second cover plate 3a.
  • the needles can be connected to one another by gluing or soldering.
  • the cover plates 2a and 3a are provided in particular when the needles are bonded to one another.
  • a tip area 4a is formed by embossing the needles starting from a point 5a, reducing their original thickness. The remaining section is referred to as shaft 6a.
  • the shaft area 7a is largely covered by the cover plates 2a, 3a, at most approx. 1 mm remains uncovered within the shaft area.
  • the length of the protruding needle tips 4a is referred to as the board V.
  • the first cover plate 2 is shorter compared to the second cover plate 3 in the direction of the longitudinal axis 9 of the needle, by an amount larger than an additional embossing section 10 of the needles 1, which has the length X having.
  • This additional embossing section 10 creates air channels 11 between the needles 1, which extend from below the inner edge 12 of the first, shorter cover plate 2 to the inner edge 13 of the second, longer cover plate 3 and open into the free passage F between two adjacent needles 1 .
  • the needles in this area have a reduced width B compared to a width A in the area of the shaft 7.
  • an air baffle 14 is provided, as shown in FIG. 5, which is connected to the first cover plate 2 to form an air chamber 15 all around, only the inner edge 16 of the air baffle 14 extending over the inner edge 12 of the first cover plate 2 extends approximately to the level of the inner edge 13 of the second air baffle 3, so that a free lateral passage 17, for example for a compressed air flow 18, which is introduced via a feed line 19 into the air chamber 15 from a compressed air source and then passes through this passage 17 into the air channels 11 between the needles 1, with the parallel inner edges 13, 16 of the second cover plate 3 or the air baffle 14, a type of nozzle is formed so that the contaminants 8 are entrained by the air flow 18.
  • FIG. 8 shows schematically how a pinstripe 31 or 31a according to the invention is arranged in a combing machine.
  • FIG. 8 shows a section of a circular comb 20 which engages in a fiber beard 21 which is periodically held and released by a pair of opening and closing pliers 22.
  • the fixed comb pinstripe 31a
  • the fixed comb is arranged above the circular comb 2o, the fiber beard 21 being pulled off by two pull-off rollers 23 and thereby being pulled through the spaces between the needles 1 of the fixed comb (pinstripe 31a).
  • a second air guide plate 24 is provided in the embodiment shown in section in FIG. 6, which is connected to the second cover plate 3 to form an air chamber 25 such that the inner edge 26 of the air guide plate 24 in the region of the inner edge 13 of the second cover plate 3 ends with the formation of a nozzle 27, through which a compressed air stream 29 supplied through an inlet opening 28 can emerge in order to increase the pressing action on the fiber beard 21 against the circular ridge 2o.
  • FIG. 7 shows a double-fix comb, which is constructed from two pin strips running parallel to one another, which are designed in principle as described in connection with FIG. 3.
  • the air chamber 15 ' which has an inlet 19', is formed in that the outer cover plates 3 are extended upwards beyond the needles 1 and in this way laterally limit the closed air chamber 15 '.
  • the air chamber 15 ' has an outlet opening 3o through which the air flow entering at 19' can be guided to the tip region 4 of the needles 1.
