Definitions

  • the invention relates to a handgun with a muffler and a cross-drilled barrel, with a locking device for optionally closing the path from the cross hole to the outside, the locking device being a sleeve surrounding the barrel and rotatably mounted on it, with an actuator for adjusting the The open position or the closed position is provided, the sleeve having a channel which can be brought into congruence with the transverse bore.
  • a sleeve is provided which, as a result of its channels incorporated in the longitudinal direction on the inside, allows it to be fired either at full energy or with reduced energy because part of the combustion gases overtake the projectile can.
  • the sleeve cannot be removed from the weapon without removing the barrel, as may be necessary for repair, for example.
  • US-A-2 451 514 discloses a muzzle brake for rifles which reduces the shot bang and can be switched on or off as desired.
  • the barrel has bores, and a sleeve which has cutouts and can be removed from the barrel is rotatably mounted on the barrel.
  • combustion gases may or may not escape from the barrel through the recesses in the sleeve.
  • the holes passing through the barrel are open.
  • the invention has for its object to design a handgun of the type described in such a way that an expansion space with a larger volume than the volume of the channels in the sleeve of the known weapon can be provided, and in which the muffler and the part of the expansion space delimiting the outside Muffler can be easily removed without having to remove the barrel. Since the weapon is still ready to fire in this case when the silencer is removed, a hazard to the shooter from combustion gases escaping from the side of the barrel should be avoided.
  • an expansion space is provided which is delimited by a pipe section which surrounds the barrel at least over part of its length and serves as an actuating element for the sleeve, the two ends of which are connected to the barrel in a sealed manner such that the pipe section is rotatably mounted on the barrel and is connected in a torsionally rigid manner to the sleeve via a form-fitting coupling, which can be disengaged by axial displacement, that the pipe section can be plugged together with the muffler connecting before the barrel muzzle, and that the pipe section and the muffler with a common connecting piece are provided, which can be connected in the manner of a bayonet lock to the barrel in the area of the barrel muzzle, and that the arrangement is such that when the tube section is turned into the position in which the muffler can be axially removed from the barrel together with the tube section n, the cross hole is covered by the sleeve and is not connected to the channel.
  • a bayonet lock creates a connection
  • Advantages of the invention lie in the simple construction, since there is not necessarily a connection from the expansion space to the muffler.
  • the expansion space also has a sufficient volume and does not interfere with the weapon.
  • the weapon with which the silencing device can be switched on or off can thus either work with full projectile energy or with reduced projectile energy. If the muzzle silencer is removed from the weapon together with the pipe section without disassembling the barrel, which is simply possible because of the bayonet lock, the weapon is still ready to fire, but a danger to the shooter is avoided because the muzzle silencer and the pipe section are only removed is possible in the rotational position of the sleeve in which the sleeve closes the transverse bore of the barrel, so that no combustion gases can escape laterally from the barrel.
  • the coupling consists of an outer ring gear of the sleeve and a matching inner ring gear of the pipe section.
  • Such a coupling reliably transmits the occurring forces and is easy to dismantle and put back together.
  • the fact that the pipe section together with the muffler connected in front of the barrel muzzle can be removed, i.e. the pipe section with the muffler is assembled into one unit, has technical handling advantages because the muffler, the pipe section and the sleeve are mostly used together anyway.
  • the weapon according to the invention is suitable for special missions, for example in command companies, in which in some cases soundproofing and firing with reduced projectile energy is required, but in other cases the full projectile energy of the ammunition is to be available.
  • the egg nes end extends into the area of the transverse bores machined into the barrel, it is provided that the longitudinal channels open at the other end of the sleeve into the sleeve wall penetrating transverse bores.
  • the cross bores, together with the longitudinal channels, form a connection system that leads from the barrel through its cross bores to the expansion space.
  • the submachine gun shown in FIG. 1 comprises a housing 1 with a handguard 10 covering the barrel, a sight 2 and a loading device 3.
  • the weapon also comprises a pistol grip 4 with a trigger box 5 and a trigger 6, as well as a shoulder rest 7, a rod magazine 8 and a muzzle muffler 9 which is attached to the barrel muzzle.
  • the weapon according to the illustration in FIG. 1 is known (MP 5 SD 3 from Heckler & Koch GmbH).
  • Cross bores 14 penetrating the barrel wall are machined into the barrel at a short distance in front of the cartridge chamber 12. Through these cross bores 14, propellant gas penetrates into an expansion space 15 after the shot, whereby the energy imparted to the projectile is reduced so much, even when using conventional ammunition, that the muzzle velocity of the projectile is below the speed of sound, thereby avoiding the bullet bang (supersonic bang) .
  • a sleeve 16 is rotatably supported to a limited extent on the barrel 11, being axially fixed by a cross pin 17 which engages in an outer circumferential annular groove 18.
  • three longitudinal channels 19 are incorporated evenly distributed around the circumference into the inner surface, each of which merges into a transverse bore 20 at its end facing the barrel mouth, which penetrates the sleeve wall and which opens into the expansion space 15.
  • the channels 19 each cover one of the transverse bores 14 with their end adjacent to the closure 13 the longitudinal channels 19 are offset tangentially to the transverse bores 14 and thereby closed.
  • the opposing surfaces can be designed in the manner of a labyrinth seal.
  • the expansion space 15 is bounded on the outside by a tube section 21, which can be slid onto the sleeve 16 in its area adjacent to the closure 13, a sealing ring 22 being inserted into an annular groove.
  • the pipe section 21 is provided with an internal toothing 23 and the sleeve 16 is provided with an external toothing 24 which are in engagement with one another when the pipe section 21 is attached. By rotating the pipe section 21, the sleeve 16 can thus also be rotated.
  • the other end of the tube section 21, which is adjacent to the mouth of the barrel 11, is closed by a ring 25, to which the muffler muffler 9 is also fastened with its end facing the closure 13.
  • the ring 25 can be slid axially onto the mouth region of the barrel 11 and, limited by a pin 26, can be pivoted through a predetermined angle.
  • a support ring 27 is fastened to the barrel, on which a helical compression spring 28 rests, which is supported on the other hand on the end face of the ring 25 facing it.
  • a bayonet lock 32/33 is incorporated, the pivot angle of which is limited by the pin 26. When the bayonet lock is released, the spring 28 presses the ring 25 and thus the pipe section 21 in the weft direction.
  • the barrel 11 is provided on its outer surface in the region of the front end of the sleeve 16 with longitudinal grooves 29 which receive the axial webs 30 when the sleeve 16 is pushed on and thus fix the radial position of the sleeve 16 relative to the barrel 11.
  • the - in each case the same - locking position shown in Figures 3, 4 and 5 corresponds to the position for unreduced full projectile energy: the transverse bores 14 are covered by the sleeve 16. If the sleeve 16 is now taken along via the toothing 23/24 by rotating the pipe section 21, then the clockwise rotation in FIGS. 4 and 5 causes the transverse bores 14 to be covered by the channels 19, which corresponds to the position for reduced projectile energy.
  • the hand protection 10 is usually attached, which covers the tube section 21 and is preferably connected to the tube section 21 in a rotationally rigid manner.
  • the ring 25 is drilled axially to produce a direct connection from the expansion space 15 to the interior of the muffler 9, the interior of which in turn is vented to the outside in a known manner.
