Definitions

  • the invention relates to a regulating or control device for cooking and / or warming units with a rotatable setting element for the power or temperature and a switching element for switching on and off an additional heating, the switching shaft of which is coaxial with the setting element.
  • Such a regulating or control device is already known (AU-A-62360/65).
  • a heating resistor is switched on, which is then supplied with current by a bimetal element in different clock ratios.
  • both heating resistors are switched on. This means that it is possible to switch on additional heating by turning the right or left knob using the one setting knob or not.
  • this power must be set on two different scales, or if only one scale of the users is present, the scale must be set once from the highest and once from the control the lowest value. This does not make the operation clear.
  • the invention has for its object to find a simpler solution, i.e. to create a regulating or control device of the type mentioned at the outset which is easier to operate.
  • the switching element in a housing which can be attached to the setting element contains a driver which can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the setting shaft and which engages in a recess which allows a limited rotational movement in a cam disk which is arranged in the housing and rotates and which has a switching contact or switch contacts actuated.
  • the user To set a certain power or temperature when the auxiliary heating is switched on, the user only needs to turn the switch from the zero position to a certain angular position at which the auxiliary heating is switched on, and then turn the switch back to the desired value. If he wants to set a certain output or temperature without switching on the additional heating, he turns the switch from the zero position directly to the desired value. This type of actuation of the switch is much clearer and more advantageous to use.
  • the switching element can preferably be designed as an attachment switch for a power control device or a temperature controller.
  • the housing of the switching element has a fastening device on its side facing away from the housing of the adjusting device, which corresponds to the fastening device of the power control device or the temperature controller.
  • the switch can particularly preferably be used in a heating element for a glass ceramic cooking appliance with a carrier trough arranged below a glass ceramic plate, in which electrical heating resistors are arranged in the central region of the carrier trough in the form of an essentially circular main heating element, with the switch to both Additional heating elements, which are arranged on the sides of the main heating element and complement the entire heated area to form an elongated rectangle with rounded corners, can be switched on.
  • the symmetrical arrangement of the main and additional heating elements is visually appealing and makes sense in terms of operation, since there can be practically no confusion between the main and additional heating elements.
  • the heat distribution is very even, so that there are no overheated spots when heated.
  • the glass ceramic cooking device 11 shown in FIG. 1 has a glass ceramic plate 12 covering a total of four cooking zones, which is surrounded by a frame 13 and forms a recessed recess which or the like in an opening in kitchen furniture. can be used. Under the glass ceramic plate, heaters are provided for three essentially circular or ring-shaped hotplates 14 which open up the upper side by etching, coloring or the like are marked.
  • a cooking zone 15 is also provided which, as can be seen from FIG. 1, has a central S-shaped heated zone and adjoining lateral heated zones. These are identified on the top by a corresponding marking or structure 16.
  • the heating 17 for the hotplate 15 is shown in detail in FIGS. 2 and 3. It consists of a carrier shell 18 made of heat-resistant insulating material, for example as a molded body made of ceramic fiber, which lies in a sheet metal shell 19 (FIG. 3). It is pressed against the underside of the glass ceramic plate 12 with its outer edges pointing upwards.
  • a carrier shell 18 made of heat-resistant insulating material, for example as a molded body made of ceramic fiber, which lies in a sheet metal shell 19 (FIG. 3). It is pressed against the underside of the glass ceramic plate 12 with its outer edges pointing upwards.
  • the carrier shell 18 is divided into three regions 21, 22, 23, which are thermally separated from one another and in particular shielded from radiation, by webs 20 reaching up to the glass ceramic plate.
  • the central region 21 is circular and has at its bottom, i.e. at a substantial distance from the glass ceramic plate, grooves 24 which are arranged in a spiral shape such that the two ends are located on the outer circumference.
  • a heating resistor 25 in the form of a wire coil is inserted into these spiral-shaped grooves.
  • the two areas 22, 23 adjoin the round central area 21 on both sides opposite one another and complement the round central area to form an elongated square with generously rounded corners. Accordingly, the two outer regions 22, 23 have outer and side edges connected to one another by rounded corners and a round inner edge narrowing their central region.
  • 24 heating resistors are inserted in the grooves.
  • the grooves run spirally from the inside to the outside and have essentially a B-shape with a straight side, two adjoining curves and an inwardly curved side opposite the straight side.
  • the heating resistor in the area 22 adjoins that of the area 21 and projects through an opening in the web 20, while the heating resistor in the area 23 is inserted independently of the others.
  • three heating elements are created, namely a central, essentially circular main heating element 26 and two additional heating elements 27 adjoining them laterally. They can be connected by connecting pieces 28 and corresponding connecting lines 29 such that the main heating element 26 is independent of the addition -Heating elements can be switched on.
  • a temperature limiter 30 is provided to limit the temperature on the underside of the glass ceramic plate. It consists of a switch head 31 with a snap switch 32 (FIG. 4), which can optionally also contain a signal contact that actuates a warning lamp before touching the hot hotplate, and a long rod-shaped temperature sensor 33 that diagonally over the entire heater 17 protrudes.
  • the temperature sensor 33 is arranged between the heating resistors and the glass ceramic plate and runs through U-shaped cutouts in the webs. It also protrudes through the edge 35 of the carrier shell 18, so that its end is freely accessible for adjustment and the switch head 31 is also outside the heated house.
  • the rod-shaped temperature sensor consists, in a manner known per se, of an expansion sleeve made of quartz glass and a metallic rod of greater thermal expansion located therein.
  • the two additional heating elements 27 are connected in series independently of the main heating element 26, while the entire heating 17 can be switched off by the switch 32 of the temperature limiter 30. All three heating elements can be controlled together by a power control device 36 in a known design.
  • a power control device known per se according to DE-A-26 25 715 can be used, to which reference is made.
  • the electrical power supplied to the heating elements can be steplessly controlled independently of the hotplate temperature by manual setting on a setting button 37, the power being emitted in individual power pulses of different relative operating times.
  • the power control unit has a snap switch 38 which is actuated by a bimetal 39 which is heated by a control heater 40 connected in parallel by the consumer. The mutual position of the bimetal and the switch is adjusted by a control cam 42 actuated by the adjusting knob 37 via an adjusting shaft 41.
  • An additional switching element 43 is mechanically placed in front of the power control device 36.
  • the heating 17 or the hotplate 15 can be used very universally. If only the central main heating element 26 is switched on, it can be used for normal cooking and roasting processes as well as the other hotplates 14. If the two additional auxiliary heating elements 27 are switched on, an elongated rectangular hotplate is created, which is supplied with less Power, for example low setting of the power control device 36, can be used to keep food warm, which is normally on elongated serving plates.
  • the hotplate 15 for roasting with all the heating elements at full power, in which case this heating surface is particularly well adapted to the roasting vessels (for example in the case of oval roasters).
  • the symmetrical overall structure of the heater 17 provides not only a visually appealing solution, but also the same conditions over the entire heater, although the individual areas 21, 22, 23 are so well separated from one another in terms of heat that the side areas can be switched on only by switching on the middle area stay cold.
  • the temperature limiter mainly detects the main heating element 26 that is switched on in all operating cases, but also receives a certain amount of heat from the additional heating elements, so that the corresponding access is available even with an asymmetrically placed cooking vessel.
  • the arrangement is particularly advantageous in the case of radiant heating, but it would also be conceivable for contact radiators. In this case, the temperature sensor would then be arranged on the side opposite the glass ceramic plate.
  • the additional switching element shown in section in FIG. 5 contains a housing 111 which is closed on one side by a cover 112. On the side opposite the cover, the housing 111 has a central bore 113 through which the adjusting shaft 114 of the adjusting device extends.
  • a driver 115 Arranged in the housing 111 is a driver 115, which has the shape of a disk with an extension 116 which is bent upward at approximately a right angle.
  • a cam disk 117 which likewise has a central bore 118 through which the adjusting shaft 114 extends.
  • the cam disc 117 has a step 119 on its upper side, by means of which it is rotatably mounted in the central bore 113 of the housing 111.
  • the cam disk 117 has on its underside a slot-shaped groove 120 which extends over an angle of 270 ° around the central bore 118 and into which the shoulder 116 engages, see FIG. Fig. 6.
  • the driver 115 which is designed in the form of a disk, has a central opening 121 which corresponds in shape to the non-circular cross section of the setting shaft 114 and with which the driver 115 can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the setting shaft 114.
  • This rotationally fixed connection is achieved by plugging the switching element onto the setting shaft 114.
  • the approach 116 of the driver 115 engages in the groove 120. Since the cam disk 117 can rotate in the housing 111, but is not connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the adjusting shaft 114, a stop of the extension 116 at the respective end of the groove 120 leads to the cam disk 117 being entrained when the adjusting shaft 114 rotates via the corresponding angular position. When the setting shaft 114 is turned backwards, the cam disk 117 initially stops until the shoulder 116 strikes the respective other end of the slot-shaped groove 120.
  • the cam disk 117 has on its right side in FIG. 6 a cam 122 which has a depression 123 in the region of its apex.
  • the housing 111 has three slot-like housing recesses 124, 125, 126, in each of which a metal piece is inserted, which merges outwards into a flat tongue 130, 131, 132.
  • the contacts 127, 128 and 129 are attached to the end of the metal pieces located inside the housing 111.
  • the housing-side end of the flat tongue 132 is bent in the form of a "U", the outward leg being fastened in the housing.
  • the inner leg 134 which is longer than the outer, carries at its end the contact 129, which is designed to switch between the contact 127 and the contact 128.
  • this Approximately in the middle of the inner leg 134, this has a bend 135 extending in the direction of the cam disk 117, which has approximately the shape of a triangle, the leftward tip being designed to interact with the recess 123 in the cam 122 of the cam disk 117. Due to the elasticity of the material, the U-shape ensures the preload of the movable contact 129 in the direction of the one fixed contact 127, so that the cam 122 can act directly on this leg to pivot it.
  • the cam 122 with its recess 123 comes into a position in which it pivots the leg 134 with the contact 129 attached to it, this position being achieved by latching the bend 135 is locked in the recess 123. If the adjusting shaft 114 is then rotated counterclockwise, this switching position is retained due to the latching action until the shoulder 116 strikes the opposite end in the groove 120 and then the cam disk 117 is also pivoted counterclockwise.
  • FIG. 7 shows the cam 122 with its recess 123 again.
  • FIG. 8 it can be seen that the groove 120 runs along a circle around the center of the central bore 118, covering an angular range of approximately 270 °.
  • Fig. 9 it can be seen how the fiction appropriately designed additional switch is connected to an adjusting device.
  • This is a temperature controller, the capillary tube 136 of which is only indicated.
  • the housing 137 of the temperature controller has a tab on both sides of the setting shaft 114, with which the housing 137 is normally screwed to the outer wall of a stove or to a similar device.
  • the additional switch according to the invention is plugged with its housing 111 from above over the front end of the setting shaft 114, so that it extends through the central opening 121 of the driver 115, the central bore 118 of the cam disk 117 and the central bore 113 of the housing 111. This is screwed onto the tabs 138 with the aid of two screws 139.
  • On the top of the housing 111 ie on the side facing away from the temperature controller, it has two tabs 141, which are otherwise constructed in the same way as the tabs 138, but are arranged offset by 90 ° with respect to them.
  • the unit comprising the temperature controller and the additional and additional switching element can be attached to the same location of a previous device as was previously the housing 137 of the temperature controller using the tabs 138 alone.
  • the additional switching element is suitable for plugging on any adjustment device that has a rotatable adjustment shaft.
  • the non-rotatable connection with this adjusting shaft can be established not only by a positive connection, as described in the example, but also by other connections. It is particularly favorable to use the additional switching element in a control device for cooking appliances in which additional heating is to be switched on by first turning the adjusting knob to the right as far as it will go and then turning it back to the desired position. While a changeover switch has been described in the exemplary embodiment described, the additional switch can of course also be used for switching off alone or for switching on alone.
