Description
Die Neuerung betrifft einen Behälter für medizinische Vorwendung(szwecke), insbesondere zur Verwendung in
einem geschlossenen medizinischen System.
Für medizinische Behandlungen, wie Blutabnahme, Blutübertragung oder Flüssigkeitstherapie, wird üblicherweise
ein geschlossenes medizinisches System verwendet, um einen Kontakt zwischen einer gehandhabten
Flüssigkeit (z.B. Blut oder flüssiges Medikament) und der Umgebung bzw. Außenluft zu verhindern. Ein bei
einem solchen System zu verwendender Behälter muß geeignet sein, die (in ihm enthaltene) Flüssigkeit
unter Schwerkrafteinfluß und mittels der Flexibilität
seines Werkstoffs übertragen zu können. Ein solcher Behälter wird daher im allgemeinen aus einem weichen
Kunststoff hergestellt. Um die Flüssigkeit in sterilem Zustand zu halten, muß ein solcher medizinischer Behälter
einer Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation unterworfen werden, so daß er mithin eine so große Wärmebeständigkeit
besitzen muß, . daß er die hohe Dampftemperatur übersteht. Ein medizinischer Behälter dient häufig
auch als Speicherbehälter zur Aufbewahrung von Blut in gefrorenem Zustand (bei -800C). Der Behälter muß
daher auch gegenüber tiefen Temperaturen unterhalb des Gefrierpunkts beständig sein.
Kunststoffe mit guter Flexibilität bzw. Biegsamkeit
sind unter anderem weiches Polyvinylchlorid, Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisate
o.dgl.. Im Hinblick auf die erforderliche Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation
ist jedoch weiches Polyvinylchlorid den Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisaten,
welche die hohe Dampftemperatur nicht auszuhalten vermögen, überlegen.
Andererseits ist weiches Polyvinylchlorid bezüglich seiner Tieftemperaturbeständigkeit den Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisaten
unterlegen; außerdem enthält es einen großen Anteil an einem Weichmacher.
Die bisherigen medizinischen Behälter vermögen also die Erfordernisse der Hoch- und Tieftemperaturbeständigkeit
nicht gleichzeitig zu erfüllen. Außerdem sind sie mit dem Problem des Ausblutens oder Übergangs
(elution) von Zusatzstoffen, wie Weichmacher, behaftet. Infolgedessen besteht ein großer Bedarf nach einem
Behälter für medizinische Verwendung, der sowohl Hochais auch Tieftemperaturbeständigkeit besitzt und der
*k zudem für medizinische*Anwendungszwecke sicher eingesetzt
werden kann.
Der Neuerung liegt damit insbesondere die Aufgabe zugrunde, einen Behälter für medizinische Verwendung
zu schaffen, der gegenüber den bei der Hochdruck-Dampf-Sterilisation
auftretenden hohen Temperaturen und gleichzeitig auch gegenüber tiefen Temperaturen beständig
ist und der sicher für medizinische Anwendungszwecke eingesetzt werden kann.
Dieser medizinische Behälter soll dabei auch flexibel bzw. biegsam sein und ausgezeichnete Abschlußeigenschaften
gegenüber Wasserdampf besitzen.
Zudem soll dieser medizinische Behälter ausgezeichnet durchsichtig und nicht mit dem Problem eines Ausblutens
oder Übergangs (elution) der in ihm enthaltenen Zusatzstoffe behaftet sein.

verbesserte Tieftemperatureigenschaften bzw. -bell
ständigkeit besitzt und hohe Temperaturen bei der Hoch-'
5 druck-Dampfsterilisation auszuhalten vermag, neuerungsgemäß
gelöst durch einen hohlen Behälterhauptteil oder -körper, aus einem vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat,
der um seinen Umfang herum, mit Ajsnahme eines vorbestimmten unverschlossenen Ab-,Q
Schnitts, vollständig verschlossen ist, und durch einen funktioneilen Behälter-Zusatzteil, dessen eines
Ende in den unverschlossenen Abschnitt des Behälterhauptteils eingesetzt und mit letzerem an seinem eingesetzten
Ende unter Zwischenfügung einer Zwischenschicht aus einem unvernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpoly.-T.erisat
verbunden ist.
Der Formling kann durch Verschweißen zweier Lagen aus dem Mischpolymerisat oder eines flachen Schlauches
aus dem Mischpolymerisat hergestellt werden. Wahlweise
kann er durch Blasformen aus dem Mischpolymerisat geformt werden.
Im allgemeinen enthält das Ethylen-Vinylacetet-Miscn-
\ 25 polymerisat des Hauptteils oder -körpers 10 - 35 Gew.-5
Vinylacetat, und es ist bis zu einem Gel-Gehalt von ' 50 - B5 Gew.-% vernetzt. Dieser Hauptteil besitzt
vorzugsweise eine Wanddicke von 0,1 - 0,6 mm.
Das Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat der Zwischenschicht
enthält vorzugsweise 15 - 40 Gew.-% Vinylacetat.

Bevorzugt besteht der Zusatz- oder Zubehörteil aus einem polymeren Stoff, der wärmebeständig ist, um
die Hochdruck-DampfSterilisation aushalten zu können,
und der eine Kleb- oder Haftfähigkeit für das Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
bei hohen Temperaturen besitzt. Ein solcher polymerer Stoff besteht üblicherweise
aus einem hochdichten Polyethylen bzw. einem Gemisch davon mit einem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
oder einem Polypropylen bzw. einem Gemisch davon mit einem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat.
Das in den Gemischen enthaltene Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat besitzt im allgemeinen einen Vinylacetatgehalt
von 15 - 40 Gew.-S. Das zuerst genannte Gemisch enthält bis zu" 30 Gew.-% des Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisats,
während das zuletzt genannte Gemisch dieses Mischpolymerisat in einer Menge von bis
zu 85 Gew.-% enthält.
Der am Hauptteil (des Behälters) anzubringende Zusatzoder Zubehörteil weist einen Auslaßstutzen ο.dgl. auf.
Im folgenden ist eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Neuerung anhand der Zeichnung näher erläutert. Es
zeigen:

Aufgrund ausgedehnter Versuche und Untersuchungen mit dem Ziel der Schaffung eines flexiblen bzw. biegsamen
Behälters für medizinische Verwendung, der für den

Einsatz in geschlossenen medizinischen System geeignet
ist,. wird aufgrund der Ausblutungs- bzw. Auswaschungsfreiheit sowie der ausgezeichneten Beständigkeit gegenüber
tiefen Temperaturen ein Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
als Werkstoff für den Hauptteil bzw. -körper des Behälters gewählt. Das Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
besitzt vorzugsweise einen Vinylacetatgehalt von 10 - 35 Gew.-SS. Wenn dieser Gehalt unter
ίο Gew.-Si liegt, verschlechtert sich die Durchsichtigkeit
des Mischpolymerisats, die einen der wesentlichen Faktoren für einen medizinischen Behälter darstellt.
Wenn der Durchsichtigkeitsgrad hoch ist, kann der flüssige Inhalt des Behälters leicht beobachtet bzw.
untersucht werden, wobe'i auch im flüssigen Inhalt enthaltene Fremdstoffe bzw. Fremdkörper ohne weiteres
festgestellt werden können. Bei einem Vinylacetatgehalt vonj iO Gew.-% verschlechtert sich auch die Flexibilität
bzw. Biegsamkeit, die einen weiteren wesentlichen Faktor
^O darstellt. Ausreichende Biegsamkeit ist wesentlich, um
die Übertragung oder Förderung der Flüssigkeit unter Schwerkrafteinfluß und mittels der Biegsamkeit (d.h.
Elastizität) des Behälters zu ermöglichen. Ein Behälter mit einem derart niedrigen. Vinylacetatgehalt ist bezüglich
seiner Zusammenfaltbarkeit verschlechtert, d.h. er legt sich nicht unter dem Atmosphärendruck flach
zusammen, wenn sich die Menge seines flüssigen Inhalts verringert. Außerdem nimmt bei einem Vinylacetatgehalt
von unter 10 Gew.-X die Hochfrequenz-Schweißbarkeit
stark ab. Wenn dagegen der Vinylacetatgehalt des genannten Mischpolymerisats größer ist als 35 Gew.-Xf
erhöht sich die Durchlässigkeit für Wasserdampf (die Wasserdampf-Abschlußfähigkeit wird verschlechtert) ,
obgleich sich Durchsichtigkeit, Biegsamkeit bzw. Flexi-
bilität und Hochfrequenz-Schweißbarkeit verbessern. Mxt zunehmender Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeit nimmt auch die
Verdampfung der im Behälterinneren befindlichen
Flüssigkeit zu. Bei langzeitiger Lagerung kann sich in diesem Fall die Konzentration des aufbewahrten
Blutes oder eines flüssigen Medikaments verändern.
Die Wanddicke des Behälterhauptteils aus dem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
hat ebenfalls einen bedeutsamen Einfluß auf Durchsichtigkeit, Flexibilität und Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeit. Wenn die Wanddicke des
Behälterhauptteils zu klein ist, nimmt die Wasserdarnpfdurchlässigkeit
zu und der Behälterhauptteil bzw. -körper kann bei der Handhabung beschädigt werden.
Aus diesem Grund sollte der Hauptteil des neuerungsgemäßen Behälters für medizinische Verwendung zweckmäßig
eine Wanddicke von 0,1 - 0,6 mm, vorzugsweise vco 0,3 - 0,5 mm besitzen.
Obgleich ein Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat ausgezeichnete Tieftemperaturbeständigkeit besitzt,
besitzt es auch dann, wenn die oben angegebenen Eigenschaften gegeben sind, möglicherweise keine zufriedenstellende
Wärmebeständigkeit, um eine Hcchdruck-Dampf-
' Sterilisation oder eine Dampfbehandlung im Autoklaven
zu überstehen (im allgemeinen erfolgt die Sterilisation
in Sattdampf von 115 - 121°C während einer Zeitspanne von 15 - 45 Minuten). Mit anderen Worten: das Mischpolymerisat
kann während der Sterilisation einem Ablösen bzw. Abschälen, einer Verformung (Verzug) und
einem Schmelzen unterliegen. Um dies zu vermeiden, wird das Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat neuerungsgemäß
einer bestimmten ionisierenden Bestrahlung unterworfen, um das Mischpolymerisat zu vernetzen und
ihm dadurch die gewünschte Wärmebeständigkeit bzw. Warmfestigkeit zu verleihen. Es hat sich gezeigt,
daß optimale Wärmebeständigkeit dann erzielt werden kann, wenn das Vernetzen bis zu einem solchen Ausmaß

erfolgt, daß das vernetzte Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
einen Gel-Gehalt von etwa 5O% oder mehr besitzt- Der verwendete Ausdruck "Gel-Gehalt" bezieht

Die lonisierungsbestrahlung kann mittels Gammastrahlen,
eines Elektronenstrahls hoher Energie o.dgl. erfolgen. Gammastrahlen liefern jedoch im allgemeinen ei*>e niedrige
Bestrahlungsdosisgröße, so daß sie bei Bestrahlung in Luft keinen hohen Gel-Gehalt zu gewährleisten
vermögen. Aus diesem Grund wird neuerungsgemäß ein energiereicher Elektronenstrahl für die Bestrahlung
gewählt. Ein solcher energiereicher Elektronenstrahl kann mittels eines Van de Graaff-Beschleunigers oder
Linearbeschleunigers erzeugt werden, der eine hohe Bestrahlungsdosisgröße (im allgemeinen mehrere fxads/s)
liefert, die variabel ist und den gewünschten Gel-Gehalt durch Bestrahlung in Luft während einer Zeitspanne
von einigen Sekunden zu gewährleisten vermag. Da ein solcher energiereichar Elektronenstrahl die
kontinuierliche Bestrahlung von folienartigen Werkstoffen erlaubt, ist er für eine Massenfertigung geeignet.
Der energiereiche Elektronenstrahl ist jedoch in seinem Übertragungsgrad (transmissivity) begrenzt
und daher nicht für die Bestrahlung eines Werkstoffs großer Dicke oder konvexer Form geeignet. Aus diesem
Grund werden bevorzugt, wie im Fall der Neuerung,
flache und vergleichsweise dünne Lagen bzw. Folien mit einem solchen energiereichen Elektronenstrahl
bestrahlt. Die flache Form des leeren Behälters ist auch im Hinblick auf die oben angesprochene Zusammen-
faltbarkeit vorteilhaft.

Durch die Bestrahlung mit einem solchen Elektronenstrahl wird auch die Tieftemperaturbeständigkeit
des Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisats verbessert. Es ist anzunehmen, daß das Einfrieren von Blutkomponenten
oder Blutpräzipitaten für deren Lagerung oder Aufbewahrung in Zukunft in zunehmend größerem Umfang
durchgeführt werden wird. Nachdem von der WHO (Weltgesundheitsorganisation)
empfohlenen Standards wird Plasma in einem Gefriergerät bei -4O°C oder darunter
oder unter Verwendung eines Gemisches aus Trockeneis und einem organischen Lösungsmittel, Wie einem Alkohol,
eingefroren. Gemäß der Praxis des japanischen Roten Kreuzes wird ein Kryopräzipitat auf folgende Weise
15 gewonnen: Ein Plasma wird bei -2O°C oder darunter
eingefroren und dann bei 5°C aufgetaut. Nach Zentrifugierung wird die überstehende Flüssigkeit bis auf
einen Rest von etwa 20 ml entfernt. Der zurückbleibende Teil des Plasmas wird gemischt und bei -2O°C oder
darunter eingefroren und sodann in einem Kühl- bzw. Gefrierschrank aufbewahrt. Durch Bestrahlung des
Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisats mit dem energiereichen Elektronenstrahl erhält dieses zufriedenstellende
Hoch- und Tieftemperaturbeständigkeit, so daß es bei tiefen Temperaturen keine Beschädigung erleidet.
Wie erwähnt, wird das Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
neuerungsgemäß so vernetzt, daß sein Gel-Gehalt bei etwa 5OX oder höher liegen kann. Es erweist sich

merisate eines so hohen Vernetzungsgrads miteinander |
zu verkleben bzw. zu verschweißen. Wenn derartige |
Mischpolymerisate mit einem Vernetzungsgrad von 50% |\
oder darüber aufeinander gelegt und einer Hochfrequenzschweißung unterworfen werden, scheinen sie auf den
ersten Blick fest miteinander verbunden zu sein. Bei

Wiedererwärmung in warmem Wasser ο.dgl. trennen sich
die Lagen aus diesem Mischpolymerisat jedoch leicht voneinander, weil sie bestrebt sind, ihre ursprüng*-
liehe Form vor der Bestrahlung mit dem Elektronenstrahl
wieder anzunehmen. Zur Vermeidung dieser Schwierigkeit werden zwei Folien oder ein flacher Schlauch
eines Ethylen-Vinylacetats-Mischpolymerisats zunächst geschweißt, um einen Behälterhauptteil zu formen, und
sodann mit einem Elektronenstrahl bestrahlt. Wahlweise kann der Behälterhauptteil durch Elektronenstrahlbestrahlung
eines Blasformlings hergestellt werden.
Der auf die beschriebene Weise hergestellte Hauptteil oder -körper des neuerungsgemäßen medizinischen Behälters
als solcher kann jedoch noch nicht seiner vorgesehenen Verwendung zugeführt werden. Für seine vorgesehene
Verwendung müssen an ihm Kunststoff-Zubehörteile, beispielsweise ein Auslaßstutzen und andere
20 Schläuche oder Anschlüsse, angebracht werden. Der
Kunststoff dieser Zubehörteile muß eine gewisse Flexibilität bzw. Biegsamkeit besitzen und eine Hochdruck-Dampf
sterilisation aushalten können. Es erweist sich als schwierig, Zubehörteile der abgegebenen Art am
Behälterhauptteil aus einem vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
anzubringen. Versuchsweise wurde ein Auslaßstutzen aus einem hochdichten PoIyetyhlen
in das eine Ende eines Behälterhauptteils aus vernetztem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat einge-
^Q setzt und durch Hochfrequenzidiwei0üng daran befestigt.
Dieser Behälter wurde mit physiologischer Salzlösung gefüllt und nach dem Verschließen mittels eines
Stopfens einer Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation unterworfen. Dabei trennte sich der Auslaßstutzen vollständig vom
Behälterhauptteil. Es kann möglich sein, den Auslaßstutzen unmittelbar am Behälterhauptteil anzubringen
und anschließend das genannte Mischpolymerisat durch
Elektronenstrahlbestrahlung zu vernetzen. Wie erwähnt, besitzt jedoch der Elektronenstrahl einen begrenzten
Durchdringungs- bzw. Ubertragungsgrad. Der Elektronenstrahl
wird daher durch den vergleichsweise dicken Zubehörteil abgeschirmt, so daß die auf der gegenüberliegenden
Seite befindliche Lage oder Folie möglicherweise nicht ausreichend vernetzt wird.
10 Neuerungsgemäß wurden verschiedene Untersuchungen
mit dem Ziel der festen Anbringung der Zubehörteile am Behälterhauptteil aus vernetztem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
angestellt. Beim Verschweißen zweier Folien, eines flachen Schlauches oder eines Blasformlings
aus dem genannten- Mischpolymerisat zu einem Behälterhauptteil wird ein nichttverschweißter Abschnitt
vorgesehen, durch den das Ende des Zubehörteils hindurchgerühft
werden kann. Die Vernetzung wird an einem Punkt beendet, an welchem der Gel-Gehalt bis zu 85« (nicht
weniger als 50%) beträgt. Sodann wird der Zubehörteil über eine Zwischenschicht aus nichtjvernetztem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
durch Hochfrequenzschweißung o. dgl. eingeschweißt. Auf diese Weise kann der Zubehörteil
sicher befestigt werden, wobei er gleichzeitig Wärmebeständigkeit erhält, um die Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation
aushalten zu können.
Zur Ermöglichung einer sicheren, vollkommenen Anbringung des Zubehörteils ist es sehr wesentlich, daß der GeI-Gehalt
des vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisats des Behälterhauptteils 85* oder weniger (5OX
oder mehr) beträgt und daß die folgenden Bedingungen erfüllt sind:
1. Der Vinylacetatgehalt im nicht|vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
der Zwischenschicht beträgt 15 - 40 Gew.-X. Wenn dieser Gehalt unter

i. Der Zubehörteil besteht aus einem Werkstoff mit
Wärmebeständigkeit (Verformungs- bzw. Verzugsfreiheit), d.h. Beständigkeit bei der Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation,
und mit einerföder Haftfähigkeit (blocking tendency)
1^ gegenüber dem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
bei hohen Temperaturen. Im Hinblick auf Faktoren, wie Sicherheit (Sterilität)f Kosten u->w., eignen sich für
den vorgesehenen zweck hochdichtes polyethylen oder Polypropylen. Wenn dieser polymere Stoff mit einem
unvernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
eines Vinylacetatgehalts von 15 - 40 Gew.-% vermischt
j. wird, wird die Haftung weiter verbessert. Das Mischungs-
L verhältnis von hochdichtem Polyethylen zu Ethylen-Vinyl-
\ acetat-Mischpolymerisat beträgt vorzugsweise 1OO:O bis
j ^ 20:80, bezogen auf Gewicht. Andererseits beträgt das
Mischungsverhältnis von Polypropylen zum genannten
« Mischpolymerisat vorzugsweise 100:0 bis 15:85, bezogen
I auf Gewicht.

Im folgenden ist der medizinische Behälter gemäß der
Neuerung in Verbindung mit einem Verfahren zu seiner Herstellung anhand der Zeichnung erläutert.
35Gemäß Fig. IA wird ein durch Aufblasformung hergestellter
Schlauch 11 aus einem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat durch Hochfrequenz-Induktionserwärmung o. dgl. zu einem
Behälterhauptteil bzw. -körper verschweißt. Das Schweißen

erfolgt nur an einem unteren Ende 12 und einem oberen
Ende 13, unter Festlegung eines unverschweißten Abschnitts 14 für das Einsetzen eines noch zu beschreibenden
Zubehörteils. Ein ähnlicher Formteil kann auch durch Blasformen hergestellt werden. Wahlweise können zwei
durch Strangpressen geformte Folien II1 aus dem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
aufeinander gelegt werden. In diesem Fall werden das untere Ende 12, das obere
Ende 13 sowie Seitenkanten 15 z.B. durch Hochfrequenz-Induktionserwärmung unter Festlegung des ni chtjv er schweiß.
ten Abschnitts 14 gemäß Fig. IB verschweißt.
Der in die gewünschte Form gebrachte Formling aus dem genannten Mischpolymerisat wird sodann mit einem Elektronenstrahl
einer Dosis von 5 - 2O Mrad bestrahlt, um das Mischpolymerisat zur Erzielung des gewünschten Gel-Gehalts
zu vernetzen.
20 Gemäß Fig. 2 wird als
Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat auf den einen Endabschnitt eines Auslaßstutzens 21 als am Behälterhauptteil
20 anzubringender Zubehörteil aufgesetzt. Der Auslaßstutzen 21 mit dem an ihm angebrachten kurzen Schlauch
22 wird so in den Behälterhauptteil eingesetzt, daß er mit dessen unverschweißtem .Abschnitt in Berührung steht.
Sodann wird der Zubehörteil mittels Hochfrequenz-Induktionserwärmung
angeschweißt, so daß gemäß Fig. 3 ein fertiger Behälter für medizinische Verwendung erhalten
wird. Auf den Auslaßstutzen 21 kann eine Kappe 23 aufgesetzt werden. Zweckmäßig wird im verschlossenen unteren
Ende des Behälters eine durchgehende Öffnung 24 zum Aufhängen des Behälters vorgesehen.
Im folgenden ist die Neuerung anhand von Beispielen im einzelnen erläutert.

Ein Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat mit einem Vinylacetatgehalt von 15 Gew.-X wird nach einem Aufblasformverfahren
zu einem flachen Schlauch mit einer Breite (in flachliegendem Zustarid) von 13Ο mm und einer
(Wand-)D.icke von 0, 4 mm geformt. Dieser Schlauch wird
sodann durch Schweißen in die gewünschte Behälterforn·
gebracht, wobei ein unverschweißter Abschnitt (Breite 130 mm in flachliegendem Zustand und Länge 10 mm) ausgebildet
wird (vgl. Fig. IA). Sodann wird dieser Schlauch zur Vernetzung des Mischpolymerisats mit einem Elektronenstrahl
(Dosis 15 Mrad) bis zu einem Gel-Gehalt von 80 % bestrahlt, wobei auf diese Weise ein Behälterhauptteil
oder -körper eines Fassungsvermögens von 500 ml erhalten wird.
Ein kurzer Schlauch (15 mm Außendurchmesser, 13 mm Innendurchmesser
und 10 mm Länge) aus einem unvernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat eines Vinylacetatgehalts
von 25 Gew.-% wird auf das eine Ende eines aus einem polymeren Stoff der in der folgenden Tabelle 1
angegebenen Art bestehenden Auslaßstutzens (13 mm Außendurchmesser, 10 mm Innendurchmesser und 25 mm Länge) aufgeschoben.
Gemäß Fig. 2 wird der Auslaßstutzen mit dem aufgeschobenen kurzen Schlauchstück in den nicht verschweißten
(öffnungs-)Abschnitt des Behälterhauptteils
eingeschoben und dann durch Hochfrequenz-Induktionserwärmung verschweißt, so daß ein fertiger Behälter für
medizinische Verwendung erhalten wird.
In den so hergestellten Behälter werden 500 ml physiologische Salzlösung eingefüllt. Am Außenende des Auslaßstutzens
wird zum Verschließen des Behälters eine 0,1 mm dicke Folie aus hochdichtem Polyethylen angeklebt
bzw. angeschweißt, worauf ein Gummistopfen bzw. eine

Gummikappe darüber aufgesetzt wird. Der mit der Lösung gefüllte Behälter wird bei 121°C 30 Minuten lang einer
Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation unterworfen, worauf der Zustand des Auslaßstutzens untersucht wird.

Obgleich sich der angeschweißte Teil um etwa 2 mm verschoben hat,ist im Fall der Werkstoffe Nr. 1 und
keine Verformung des Auslaßstutzens zu beobachten (der Auslaßstutzen hat sich zur Seite des Außenendes
hin verschoben). Außerdem war kein Austritt des Inhalts festzustellen, und die betreffenden Auslaßstutzen werfen
bei der Flüssigkeitstherapie keinerlei Probleme auf. Im
FaIl der Auslaßstutzen aus den Werkstoffen Nr. 3 - 6
ist die Haftfestigkeit gut, und die Auslaßstutzen zeigten weder Undichtigkeit noch Verformung. Obgleich
bei den Auslaßstutzen aus den Werkstoffen Nr. 7 und 8 die Haftfestigkeit gut ist, sind die betreffenden Auslaßstutzen
zusam meng edrückt, so daß sie bei der Flüssigkeitstherapie
Schwierigkeiten aufwerfen.
Derselbe Versuch wird mit dem Unterschied wiederholt, daß ein kurzes Schlauchstück aus unvernetztem '.;thylen-Vinylacetat-Misclipolymerisat
verwendet wird, das 40 Gew.-SS Vinylacetat enthält. In diesem Fall werden ähnliche Ergebnisse erzielt.

Unter Verwendung derselben Werkstoffe und unter Anwendung derselben Verfahrensschritte wie in Beispiel
ι werden Behälter hauptteile eines Fassungsvermögens
von 500 ml aus einem vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat
eines Gel-Gehalts von 80* hergestellt.
Am unverschweißten Abschnitt (Breite im flachen Zustand:
17mm; Länge: 10 mm) wird auf dieselbe Weise wie im Beispiel 1 ein Auslaßstutzen angebracht. Für die Auslaßstutzen
werden die Werkstoffe Nr. 3 und 4 gemäß Beispiel 1 verwendet. Die kurzen Schlauchstücke bestehen
aus einem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat mit 15 Gew.-* Vinylacetat.
Nach dem Einfüllen von 500 ml physiologischer Salzlösung, wie in Beispiel 1, wird der Behälter verschlossen und
auf dieselbe Weise wie in Beispiel 1 einer Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation
unterworfen.

Keiner der so hergestellten Behälter zeigte eine Verformung bzw. einen Verzug des Auslaßstutzens oder ein
Austreten seines Inhalts. Andererseits war jedoch eine Ablösung über eine Länge von etwa 3 mm von der Innenseite
des angebrachten bzw. angeschweißten Abschnitts zu beobachten. Diese Ablösung führte jedoch bei der
Flüssigkeitstherapie zu keinerlei Schwierigkeiten.
Veraleichsbeispiel 1 10
Unter Verwendung derselben Werkstoffe und Anwendung derselben Verfahrensschritte wie in Beispiel 1 werden
Behälterhauptteile eines Fassungsvermögens von 500 ml
aus einem vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpoly-15
merisat eines Gel-Gehalts von 80% hergestellt.
In die unvsrschyeiüten Abschnitte (Breite im flachen
Zustand: 17 mm; Länge 10 mm) werden 25 mm lange Auslaßstutzen aus den Werkstoffen Nr. 3 und 4 gemäß der

Tabelle 1 eingesetzt und durch Hochfrequenz-Induktionserwärmung mit dem Behälterhauptteil verbunden bzw. verschweißt.
Nach dem Einfüllen von 500 ml physiologischer Salzlösung, wie in Beispiel 1, werden die Behälter ver-
oc. schlossen und (an den Auslaßstutzen) mit Gummikappen
Zo
abgedeckt.
Wenn diese Behälter (flach) zusammengedrückt werden,
kann kein Austritt des Inhalts über die Auslaßstutzen Q0 oder Ablösen des angeschweißten Teils festgestellt
werden.
Bei 30 Minuten langer Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation bei 121°C trennen sich die Auslaßstutzen vollständig
von den Behältern ab, wooei der größte Teil der physiologischen Salzlösung über die Schweißverbindung der
Auslaßstutzen austritt.

Behälter gemäß der Neuerung werden aus einem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Miffchpolymerisat
eines Vinylacetatgehalts von 20 Gew.-% hergestellt. Ebenso werden ähnliche Behälter
aus einem unvernetztem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat derselben Art sowie aus Polyvinylchlorid
hergestellt. Nach dem Einfüllen von 600 ml von Wasser werden diese Behälter verschlossen. Anschließend
werden die Behälter in Polyethylen-Beuteln oder unmittelbar in Trockeneis-Etanol (-72 C)
eingetaucht und zum Einfrieren des Wassers eine Stünde lang darin belassen. Die Behälter werden hierauf aus
verschiedene^ in der folgenden Tabelle 2 angegebenen Höhen auf einen Fußboden mit Linoleum-Fliesen fallengelassen.
Anschließend werden die Zustände der jeweiligen Behälter zur untersuchung infer Tieftemperatux
beständigkeit untersucht. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 2 angegeben.

Wie sich aus obiger Tabelle ergibt, besitzen die neuerungsgemäßen Behälter verbesserte Tieftemperaturzusammenfassend
läßt sich sagen, daß die neuerungsgemäßen medizinischen Behälter eine Wärmebeständigkeit,
die sie eine Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation überstehen
läßt, sowie verbesserte Tieftemperaturbeständig- *0 keit besitzen. Gleichzeitig besitzen diese Behälter ausgezeichnete
Flexibilität bzw. Biegsamkeit und Zusammenf altbarkeit, vie sie für die Verwendung in geschlossenen
medizinischen Systemen bevorzugt werden, so daß sich diese Behälter in vorteilhafter Weise £ür die Verwendung
in geschlossenen medizinischen Systemen der eingangg angegebenen Art eignen. Außerdem sind diese Behälter
ausgezeichnet durchsichtig, so ~dß das Vorhandensein
von Fremdkörpern in Behälterinhalt oder die Auftrennen«
von Blutbestandteilen leicht festgestellt werden kann.
Da diese Behälter außerdem keine Zusatzstoffe wie
Weichmacher oder Stabilisierungsstoffe enthalten, können derartige Stoffe nicht in den Behälterinhalt
ausbluten bzw. übertreten. Da die Behälter darüber hinaus eine hohe Wasserdampf-Abschlußfähigkeit besitzen,
ist eine etwaige Änderung der Konzentration des Behälterinhalts (flüssiges Medikament, Blut o.dgl.) nur gering,
so daß die Bohälterinhalte in unverändertem Zustand über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg aufbewahrt werden
können. Da alle Verschließ- oder Verschweißvorgänge 30
mittels einer Hochfrequenzeinrichtung und ohne die
Verwendung eines Lösungsmittels erfolgen können, sind die neuerungsgemäßen Behälter für medizinische Verwendungszwecke
sicher.

1. Biegsamer und zusammenfaltbarer Behälter für medizinische
Verwendung, der verbesserte Tieftemperatureigenschaften bzw. -beständigkeit besitzt und hohe
Temperaturen bei der Hochdruck-Dampfsterilisation aus zuhalten vermag, gekennzeichnet
durch einen hohlen Behälterhauptteil oder
-kö'rper (20), aus einem vernetzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat,
der um seinen Umfang herum, mit Ausnahme eines vorbestimmten unverschlossenen Abschnitts (14), vollständig verschlossen ist, und
durch einen funktioneilen Behälter-Zusatzteil (21), 15
dessen eines Ende in den unverschlossenen Abschnitt
(14) des Behälterhauptteils (20) eingesetzt und mit letzterem an seinem eingesetzten Ende unter Zwischenfügung
einsr Zwischenschicht (22) aus einem unver-
netzten Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Mischpolymerisat ver-20
