Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung der im Oberbegriff der Patentansprüche 1
und 7 genannten Art
Eine solche Vorrichtung und ein solches Verfahren sind bereits bekannt (DE-OS 23 61038). Bei dem
bekannten Verfahren wird ein Stück des schrumpffähigen Kunststoffes um einen Formkern so gelegt, daß der
untere Rand über diesen hinausragt Diese Kunststoffhülse wird so weit erwärmt, daß sie sich um den
Formkern zusammenzieht und in innige Berührung mit diesem kommt, während der untere Rand, der über den
Formkern hinausragt, sich radial nach innen einbiegt Anschließend wird dieser eingeschrumpfte Körper vom eo
Formkern abgezogen und in ein aus zwei Gegenformen bestehendes Formwerkzeug gebracht Unter Anwendung
von Wärme und Druck wird nun im unteren Teil der Flansch gebildet und der Flansch mit einer aus
Schaumstoff bestehenden Endwand heiß versiegelt. Es hat sich jedoch gezeigt, daß dieses Verfahren noch
verhältnismäßig unproduktiv ist, da eine Vielzahl von Einzelschritten verwendet werden muß.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, dieses Verfahren und die zur Durchführung des Verfahrens
verwendete Vorrichtung zu verbessern, um mit wenig Kosten und in kurzer Zeit Behälter formen zu können.
Die Erfindung hinsichtlich des Verfahrens ist im Patentanspruch 1 und hinsichtlich der Vorrichtung im
Patentanspruch 7 gekennzeichnet
Bei der Erfindung wird der Behälter in wesentlich kürzerer Zeit hergestellt, da auf die Verwendung
mehrerer zur Formgebung erforderlicher Teile zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten verzichtet wird. Die
Hülse wird nämlich, ist sie einmal am Halter befestigt und jedenfalls am unteren Rand genügend plastifiziert,
in einem Formgang zum Flansch geformt Die Anwendung des Saugverfahrens begünstigt nicht nur
die Formgebung selbst, sondern verkürzt auch die Gesamtzeit zwischen dem Beginn des Erwärmens bzw.
Plastifizierens und dem Ende des Verfestigungsvorgangs.
Besonders günstig ist es, wenn das Formgeben zeitlich mit dem Befestigen der Endwand verbunden
wird, wie dies gemäß einer weiteren Ausbildung der Erfindung möglich ist
Wird gemäß einer besonderen Ausbildung der Erfindung die am Halter befestigte Hülse gedreht dann
findet trotz Verwendung beispielsweise nur eines einzigen örtlich wirkenden Heizelements eine gleichmäßigere
Plastifizierung des unteren Hülsenrandes statt,
was nicht nur für eine gleichmäßige Formgebung ohne Beeinträchtigung, sondern auch für die erwünschte gute
Verbindung mit der Endwand von Bedeutung ist
Bei Verwendung eines Formwerkzeugs, das Löcher im Bereich der Formflächen aufweist, kann das Saugbzw.
Vakuumverfahren besonders einfach und konzentriert zur Wirkung gelangen. Hierdurch wird nicht nur
die Formgebung selbst erleichtert sondern ist es auch möglich, die Endwand bis zum dichten Verbinden mit
dem Flansch der Hülse durch Saugkräfte am Boden des Formwerkzeugs festzuhalten. Gegenwerkzeuge wie
beim Stand der Technik sind bei der Erfindung nicht erforderlich.

Zwei Ausiührungsbeispiele sind im folgenden anhand
der Zeichnung näher erläutert Darin zeigt
F i g. 1 eine Vorrichtung zum Schrumpfformen und Endwandverbinden von zirkularzylindrischen Verpakkungsbehältern
in drei verschiedenen Verfahrensstufen und
F i g. 2 eine andere Ausbildung der Vorrichtung von Fig.l.
F i g. 1 zeigt eine Anordnung mit einem drehbaren Halter 23, der dazu dient eine zylindrische Hülse 19
festzuhalten und um ihre Symmetrieachse zu drehen. Die Vorrichtung hat ferner Heizelemente 24, 25 zum
Erhitzen bzw. Plastifizieren der freien Kantenzone bzw. des unteren Randes 33 der Hülse 19. Ferner weist die
Vorrichtung ein Formwerkzeug 26 auf, das durch eine Stange 29 betätigt wird und mit Hilfe dieser Stange 29
relativ zur Hülse 19 bewegt werden kann. Das Formwerkzeug 26 hat eine innere Formungsfläche,
deren Größe und Form dem gewünschten Aussehen des gebildeten Flansches der Hülse 19 bzw. des Behälterkörpers
entspricht. Das Formwerkzeug 26 kommuniziert längs des Loches 32 mit einem Raum 31, der durch
eine Leitung 30 mit einer Vakuumquelle in Verbindung steht.
Rand 33 der Hülse 19 mit Hilfe der Heizelemente 24,25 erhitzt wird, wobei der erwähnte Flanschbereich 33
dazu gebracht wird, zu schrumpfen und sich zur Bildung
eines Flansches 34 nach innen einzubiegen. Da die endgültige Form dieses Flansches 34 jedoch schwierig
genau eingehalten werden kann, falls man sich nur auf
die Schrumpfungsdeformation allein verläßt, wird die
Formgebung dadurch verbessert und erleichtert, daB das Formungswerkzeug 26 in der in Fig. Ib und Ic
wiedergegebenen Weise mit dem eingeschrumpften Flansch 34 in Kontakt gebracht wird; dabei wird dieser
durch Vakuum zur inneren Formungsfläche des Formwerkzeuges 26 angesaugt, so daB der Flansch 34
abkühlt und sich in dem geformten Zustand stabilisiert Das bedeutet, daB der Flansch 34 eine plane untere
Flanschfläche bekommt, die sich als Versiegelungsunterlage für eine als Endwand dienende Platte eignet,
die mit Hilfe einer Wärmeversiegelung oder eines durch Wärme aktivierbaren Bindemittels, z. E »hot melt«, am
Flansch 34 angebracht wird.
Das Ansetzen und Verbinden der Endwand Zl erfolgt zweckmäßigerweise gleichzeitig mit der Flanschformung,
wie in Fig. 1 gezeigt wird. Dabei wird eine Endwand 27 in das Formwerkzeug 26 eingeführt, ehe
das Formwerkzeug 26 mit dem eingeschrumpften Flansch 34 in Kontakt gebracht wird. Zur Erlangung der
vorgesehenen Saugwirkung am Flansch 34 (um diesen in engen Kontakt mit der Endwand 27 zu bringen) ist an der
Endwand 27, jedoch innerhalb des Bereiches, der vom Flansch 34 überdeckt werden wird, eine Anzahl
kleinerer Locher oder Schlitze im Formwerkzeug 26 angebracht Falls die Endwand 27 solche Löcher oder
Schlitze aufweist, kann der eingeschrumpfte Flansch 34 noch besser an das Formwerkzeug 26 angesaugt und in
engen Druckkontakt mit der eingeführten Endwand 27 gebracht werden. Man kann also eine gleichzeitige
Flanschformung und Endwandversiegelung erzielen.
Um eine gute Versiegelung Endwand zu bringen, kann an der Endwand 27 vorher ein Bindemittelbelag
aus beispielsweise hot melt oder ein thermoplastischer Belag angebracht, werden, der durch eines der
Heizelemente 24, 25 erhitzt werden kann, das einen Heißluftstrahl an die Endwand 27 abgeben kann.
Die Endwand 27 kann vorzugsweise aus dem gleichen Material wie der Verpackungskörper, nämlich der Hülse
19 bestehen, es ist aber auch möglich, die Endwand 17 aus anderem Material herzustellen, beispielsweise aus
Karton oder homogenem Kunststoff.
Wenn das Formwerkzeug 26 in der in Fig. Ic
wiedergegebenen Weise an das eingeschrumpfte Ende der zylindrischen Hülse 19 angepreßt worden ist, wird
der Flansch 34 geformt; gleichzeitig wird die Endwand 27 zur Bildung eines flüssigkeitsdichten und haltbaren
Behälters fest mit dem Flansch 34 verbunden.
In F i g. 1 ist nur gezeigt, wie man eine Endwand 27
anbringt Es ist aber leicht einzusehen, daß die andere Endwand, falls eine solche an der Hülse 19 gewünscht
wird, in gleicher Weise angebracht werden kann, auch wenn der Halter 23 selbstverständlich etwas anders
gebaut sein muß. Es ist auch möglich, gleichzeitig zwei Endwände 27 an entgegengesetzten Seiten der zylindrischen
Hülse 19 anzubringen. Der Halter 23 muß dann aber etwa mittig an der Hülse 19 angebracht werden,
und beide Öffnungskantenzonen der Hülse 19 müssen zur oben beschriebenen Erhitzung und Formungsbearbeitung
zugängig sein.
Der kombinierte Arbeitsvorgang mit Flanscheinschrumpfung,
Flanschformung und Endwandansetzung ist sehr rationell; diese Arbeitsmomente lassen sich
vorteilhaft zu ein und demselben Arbeitsvorgang zusammenfassen.
Falls die Endwand 27 nicht gleichzeitig mit der Einschrumpfung des Flansches 34 angesetzt werden soll,
kann eine Anordnung gemäß Fig.2 angewendet werden. Dabei wird der gleiche Halter 23 wie in F i g. 1
benutzt Das Heizelement zur Erwärmung des Randes 33 der zylinderförmigen Hülse 19 ist jedoch etwas
ίο anders geformt und besteht aus einer Wannluftvorrichtung
25 mit zwei Düsen 35, die zu beiden Seiten des Kantenteils bzw. Randes 33 hin gerichtet sind.
Das Formwerkzeug 26 ist um eine der Düsen 35 angeordnet und kann mit Hilfe der Betätigungsstange
29 mit dem eingeschrumpften Flansch 34 in Kontakt gebracht werden. Dieser wird in vorstehend beschriebener
Weise dadurch geformt. daB der gebildete, aber noch weiche Flansch 34 mit Hilfe eines Vakuums, das
durch Löcher 36 zustande gebracht wird, die mit einem Raum 31 im Formwerkzeug 26 kommunizieren, zum
genauen Anliegen an die Formungsfläche des Formwerkzeuges 26 angesaugt wird. Der Raum 31 steht
durch die Leitung 30 mit einer hier nicht gezeigten Vakuumquelle in Verbindung.
Falls erwünscht, können gleichzeitig beide Kantenzonen
der Hülse 19 eingeschrumpft werden, falls der Halter 23 anders geformt wird. Es ist auch möglich, die
Flanschformung so auszuführen, daß die Flansche 34 verschieden werden. Beispielsweise kann man in
gewissen Fällen einen unteren Flansch 34 wünschen, der zur Bildung des Behälterbodens mit einer planen
Endwand bedeckt wird, während die andere Seite der zylindrischen Hülse 19 beispielsweise zur Bildung eines
Flaschenhalses oder dergleichen eingeschrumpft wird.
Es hat sich gezeigt, daß mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren und der Vorrichtung die rationelle und billige
Herstellung von Verpackungsbehältern möglich ist; dabei besteht eine große Wahlfreiheit bezüglich der
äußeren Form der Verpackungsbehälter. Zum Beispiel kann man gerade zylindrische Verpackungsbehälter mit
rechteckigem oder quadratischem Querschnitt aber auch mit abgerundeten Ecken herstellen. Man kann
auch rein zirkularzylindrische und sogar elliptische Verpackungsbehälter herstellen, falls erwünscht Am
wichtigsten ist es jedoch, daß man durch die Flanschschrumpfung am Boden des Verpackungsbehälters
auch eine sehr große Bodendichtheit und große Festigkeit der Versiegelung zwischen dem Boden der
Verpackung und dem Verpackungskörper erzielen
so kann, bei der der eingeschrumpfte Flansch einen integrierten Teil bildet In den Fällen, in denen der
Verpackungsbehälter aus einem geraden, zylindrischen Behälterkörper (oder Hülse 19) mit Endwänden besteht,
kann die eine aufgesetzte Endwand mit Vorteil ein vorbereitetes Entleerungs- und Fülloch aufweisen,
durch das das vorgesehene Füllgut in den Verpackungsbehälter eingefüllt wird, wonach das Fülloch mit einem
abreißbaren Deckstreifen überdeckt wird, den man abreißt, wenn die Verpackung geöffnet und des Füllgut
zugängig gemacht werden soll.
Wie bereits erwähnt, hat man auch bei der Formung des eingeschrumpften Kopfflansches eine solche Wahlfreiheit,
daß die Verpackung im großen und ganzen einer Glasflasche ähnelt, beispielsweise einer Weinflasehe
traditioneller Art Auch in diesem Falle kann die Form des eingeschrumpften Teiles mit Hilfe einer
Formungsvorrichtung kontrolliert werden, die den weich gemachten, eingeschrumpften Kunststoffteil
wieder an die innere Formungsfläche des Formwerkzeuges 26 ansaugt, wonach sich der Kunststoff in der
eingesaugten Lage stabilisiert, wodurch eine große Formungsgenauigkeit erreicht wird Die erfindungsgemäße
Methode hat somit den großen Vorteil, daß man bei der Wahl der Verpackungsform eine bedeutend
größere Freiheit als bei den bisher bekannten Methoden hat Außerdem erzielt man den Vorteil, daß die
eingeschrumpften Teile, beispielsweise die Flansche und der Halsteil eines flaschenähnlichen Behälters, dicker
und somit steifer werden als der übrige Zylinderkörper.
Claims (7)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von insbesondere zylinderförmigen Behältern, bei dem eine insbesondere
zylinderförmige, von einem Halter gehaltene Hülse aus schrumpffähigem Kunststoff mindestens
teilweise durch Wärme zum Schrumpfen gebracht und durch Formwerkzeuge am unteren Rand zu
einem Flansch verformt wird, an dem dadurch ein Behälterboden angebracht wird, daß eine Stirn- oder
Endwand dicht mit dem Flansch verbunden wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der untere
Rand (33) der Hülse (19) zum Fonngeben des eingeschrumpfen Flansches (34) an die innere
Formfläche des Formwerkzeugs (26) angesaugt und ts gekühlt wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Endwand (27) während des Ansaugens mit dem Flansch dicht verbunden wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Hülse (19) während des
Plastifizierens um ihre Symmetrieachse an einem oder mehreren Heizelementen (24, 25) vorbeigedreht
wird.
4. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Endwand
(27) zum dichten Verbinden mit einem wärmeaktivierbaren Bindemittel versehen wird.
5. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß auch die
Endwand (27) erwärmt wird.
6. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mittels
Heißluftstrahlen erwärmt wird.
7. Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, mit
einem Halter für die Hülse, mit Heizelementen zum Erwärmen der Hülse und mit einem Formwerkzeug
zum Flanschformen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das relativ zum Halter (23) bewegbare Formwerkzeug
(26) mit Löchern (32; 316) in der Formfläche versehen ist, durch die der Raum an der Formfläche
mit einer Saug- bzw. Vakuumquelle verbindbar ist.
