Description

树脂辊的制造方法
技术领域
本发明涉及树脂辊的制造方法。本发明更具体涉及在造纸、炼铁、纤维、磁记录媒体等各种工业中使用的大型、硬质树脂辊的制造方法。
背景技术
在造纸、炼铁、纤维、磁记录媒体等各种工业中,使用外径为300mm~1500mm、面长为1500~10000mm、硬度为D70~D99(JIS K6253)左右的大型、硬质树脂辊。
首先,作为前提,本发明的作为对象的树脂辊的制造方法是配置成形为筒状的合成树脂制外筒使其覆盖金属芯的外周,金属芯的外侧被前述外筒包覆,在前述金属芯和前述外筒之间形成的间隙中填入粘合剂,使前述粘合剂固化,将整体粘合一体化的方式。采用该方式的树脂辊的制造方法在日本专利特公平3-47359号公报中有详细记载。一般,作为树脂辊的制造方法,除了上述方式之外,已知的还有在金属芯的外侧浇铸液状的合成树脂再使其固化的方式,在金属芯的外侧卷绕含浸了合成树脂的带状物再使其固化的方式等,它们都属于本发明对象外的方式。
日本专利特公平3-47359号记载的制造方法对制造大型硬质的树脂辊特别有效,由于能够制造具有良好的压缩强度、表面不易损伤的树脂辊,所以作为造纸用轧光树脂辊等的制造方法的实用性正在提高。
如日本专利特公平3-47359号所述,以往在树脂辊使用时为了防止外筒被破坏,最好使粘合合成树脂制外筒的粘合剂的固化温度与制成后的树脂辊的使用温度基本一致,通过在加热炉中以约60℃的温度对辊整体加热,使粘合剂固化的例子有具体的说明。
用于上述用途的树脂辊为了除去使用中辊表面出现的伤痕,在适当的时候对表面进行研磨。对辊表面进行研磨时,一边撒上研磨用水一边进行研磨。
但是,利用以往的方法制得的树脂辊的表面如果出现小的伤痕,则在冬季研磨时等低温状态下,特别容易使小伤痕等发展成大裂缝。此外,在低温状态下有时会出现新的裂缝。裂缝如果大量扩展,则该辊就完全不能够再使用。此外,如果因裂缝而造成研磨中辊碎片的飞散,则非常的危险。
另外,为使粘合剂层具备足够的强度和耐久性,尽可能使粘合剂在较高的温度下固化,这样能够有效提高粘合剂的玻璃化温度。但是,粘合剂的固化温度越高,低温状态时的裂缝的扩展就越容易发生。
因此,本发明的目的是提供能够在金属芯和外筒间获得足够的粘合强度和耐久性,且对辊表面进行研磨时等,即使在低温状态下也不会出现裂缝或即使出现伤痕,该伤痕也不会扩展为大裂缝的树脂辊。
发明的揭示
本发明以配置成形为筒状的合成树脂制外筒使其覆盖金属芯的外周、在前述金属芯和前述外筒之间形成的间隙中填入热固型粘合剂、使前述粘合剂固化、将整体粘合一体化的树脂辊的制造方法为前提。为了解决上述问题,该方法的特征是,前述整体的粘合一体化通过将前述外筒温度保持为第1温度的状态使前述粘合剂完成一次固化而进行,然后,在高于前述第1温度的第2温度对前述粘合剂进行加热使其二次固化。
本发明者着眼于粘合前的外筒单体和粘合一体化后的外筒显现出不同的热膨胀特性。粘合一体化后的外筒的热膨胀特性受金属芯的热膨胀特性的影响很大。粘合一体化后的辊处于低温状态时,粘合前的外筒本来具备的热收缩量和粘合一体化后的外筒的实际热收缩量之差拉大,形成畸变,导致裂缝的出现。进一步反复研究后发现,粘合一体化后的外筒的内部发生应力受粘合时的外筒温度的左右。
通过以外筒温度保持为相对低的第1温度的状态下使粘合剂一次固化,能够缩小树脂辊处于低温状态时的粘合前的辊外筒本来所具备的热收缩量和粘合一体化后的外筒实际的热收缩量之差,即使在研磨外周表面时的低温状态下也难以出现或扩展裂缝。以外筒温度保持为低温的状态使粘合剂进行一次固化的情况下,仅通过一次固化不能够获得足够的粘合强度和耐久性。因此,前述粘合剂为热固型粘合剂,一次固化后,通过在高于第1温度的第2温度下加热粘合剂使其进行二次固化,能够提高粘合剂的玻璃化温度,并能够获得足够的粘合强度和耐久性。
较好的是第1温度为低于使用时的树脂辊温度的温度。例如,第1温度在10℃~50℃的范围内。
较好的是第2温度为高于使用时的树脂辊温度的温度。例如,第2温度在60℃~150℃的范围内。
粘合剂的一次固化例如通过从金属芯侧对粘合剂加热而进行。这种情况下,为了防止外筒升温至高于第1温度的温度,也可从外侧对外筒进行冷却。
粘合剂的二次固化例如通过加热树脂辊整体而进行。

实施发明的最佳方式
如图1A~图1C所示,准备成形为筒状的合成树脂制外筒1,将外筒1包覆金属芯2的外侧,在形成于金属芯2和外筒1之间的间隙填充热固型粘合剂3,使粘合剂3固化,将整体粘合一体化而制得本发明的树脂辊。
例如,准备规定大小的筒体成形用模具,在该模具中注入合成树脂原料,在规定温度使其固化形成外筒1。
对形成外筒1的合成树脂的种类无特别限定,例如,环氧树脂、聚氨酯、聚异氰脲酸酯、交联聚酯酰胺、不饱和聚酯、邻苯二甲酸二烯丙酯树脂等。这些树脂可通过混合填充剂而被增强。
为了使外筒1牢固地粘合,最好在金属芯2的外周形成下卷层4。下卷层4可通过将含浸了热固性树脂的纤维材料以规定厚度卷绕而形成。
为了实现粘合强度和耐久性等足够的物性,粘合剂3最好采用玻璃化温度高于树脂辊使用温度的热固型粘合剂。更具体地讲,最好采用具备80℃~160℃左右的玻璃化温度的材料。常温固化型粘合剂由于不能够获得足够的物性,所以不理想。粘合剂3的种类只要是热固型即可,对其无特别限定,例如,环氧树脂系、不饱和聚酯系、邻苯二甲酸二烯丙酯系、聚氨酯系等粘合剂。
粘合剂3由于要被填入形成于金属芯2和外筒1之间的间隙,所以最好采用粘度低于一定程度的粘合剂。其粘度较好为500mPa·S~5000mPa·S(35℃~40℃),更好为1000mPa·S~2500mPa·S。
在金属芯2的外侧包覆外筒1时,形成于金属芯2和外筒1之间的间隙如果过小,则粘合剂3的填充将很困难。另一方面,由于粘合剂3的物性与外筒1相比相对较低,所以粘合剂层3如果过厚,则树脂辊的使用中在粘合剂层3内会发生移动放热。因此,形成于金属芯2和外筒1之间的间隙过大的情况下,移动耐久性会下降。基于这些理由,形成于金属芯2和外筒1之间的间隙最好为2mm~6mm。在该间隙内填充液状的粘合剂3,使其固化实现粘合一体化。
本发明的树脂辊的制造方法中,以外筒1的温度保持为低于使用时的树脂辊温度的温度状态使粘合剂3一次固化,完成整体粘合一体化。一次固化最好进行足够的时间而不使粘合剂3的反应收缩发生。用于造纸轧光树脂辊的情况下,由于对置使用了金属制热辊,所以使用时的树脂辊温度为60℃~130℃左右。因此,一次固化时最好以外筒温度保持为较低温度(10℃~50℃,较好为10℃~40℃,更好为20℃~35℃)的状态进行。一次固化时的外筒温度如果过高,则变为低温状态时,出现于树脂辊的裂缝易扩展,此外还容易出现新的裂缝。这就意味着一次固化时的外筒1的温度越低越好,但一次固化时的外筒1的温度如果过低,则使粘合剂固化的效率会变差。因此,一次固化时的外筒1的温度最好适当设定在上述范围内。
一次固化一般通过从外筒1的外部加热而进行,但也并不是要特别从外部加热,也可利用在金属芯2的内部通入温水等热介质等方法仅从金属芯2侧进行加热。这种情况下,通过从金属芯2的内部的加热,能够提高粘合剂3的固化速度,提高生产效率。
此外,以一边从金属芯2侧加热一边从外筒1的外侧积极地进行冷却的状态也可使粘合剂3一次固化。这种情况下,通过从金属芯2内部进行加热可提高粘合剂的固化速度。而且,通过外侧的冷却能够积极地抑制因内侧加热的影响而引发的外筒1升温,所以低温状态下的裂缝防止效果也增加。从外侧的冷却可通过自然冷却、水冷等常规方法完成。
一次固化后通过加热使粘合剂3完成二次固化。二次固化时的加热从树脂辊的外部或金属芯的内部或从两者同时进行。通过加热进行二次固化可提高粘合剂层3的玻璃化温度,获得粘合强度和耐久性等足够的物性。这意味着二次固化中最好加热使粘合剂3升温至高于使用时的树脂辊的温度。更具体地讲,二次固化时最好将粘合剂加热至60℃~150℃左右。
以下,对本发明的实施例和比较例进行说明。
[实施例1]
按照以下步骤制造本发明的实施例的树脂辊。
首先,利用喷砂使长5200mm、直径480mm的铁制辊芯2的外周面粗面化,在该辊芯2的外周面形成厚6.5mm的下卷层4。将含浸有混入了二氧化硅粉末的环氧树脂的玻璃粗纱卷绕在辊芯2的周围,然后在该粗纱层的外周卷绕含浸了同样的环氧树脂的玻璃编织材料而形成下卷层4。使该环氧树脂在110℃固化。
另外,将混入了二氧化硅粉末的环氧树脂原料注入规定大小的筒体成形用模具,在170℃~180℃的温度下使其固化,通过对其内径及外径的加工,制得外径540mm、内径501mm及长5300mm的外层用筒体1。
将该外层用筒体1嵌入形成了下卷层4的辊芯2。然后,在形成于下卷层4和筒体1之间的环状间隙注入环氧树脂系粘合剂,通过从筒体1的外部加热以将筒体1的温度保持为50℃的状态使粘合剂进行一次固化,形成了下卷层4的辊芯2和筒体1间夹入厚度4mm的粘合剂层3而粘合一体化,获得一次固化树脂辊。接着,将一次固化树脂辊加热到80℃,使粘合剂3完成二次固化。然后,切削辊的外周面,研磨后制得长5200mm、直径530mm的树脂辊。
该树脂辊作为造纸用轧光树脂辊使用后,不存在粘合剂层3的强度和耐久性问题,即使在冬季研磨时也不会特别出现产生裂缝和裂缝扩展等问题。将该造纸轧光用树脂辊与温度90℃的加热辊对置,使纸张通过形成于两辊间的轧点,用于纸张的表面处理。使用时的树脂辊温度约上升至70℃。
[实施例2]
与实施例1同样操作制得本发明的实施例2的树脂辊。但是,铁制辊芯2的尺寸是长5160mm、直径550mm,下卷层4的厚度为6.5mm。外层用筒体1的外径为610mm、内径为571mm、长为5300mm。粘合剂的一次固化在筒体1的温度保持为40℃的状态下进行,粘合剂层3的厚度为4mm。制得的树脂辊的尺寸为长5160mm、直径600mm。
在与实施例1同样的条件下,将该树脂辊作为造纸用轧光树脂辊使用后,粘合剂层3的强度和耐久性未出现问题,即使在冬季研磨时也不会特别出现产生裂缝和裂缝扩展等问题。
[实施例3]
与实施例1同样制得本发明的实施例3的树脂辊。但是,粘合剂的一次固化以筒体1的温度保持为35℃的状态进行。
在与实施例1同样的条件下,将该树脂辊作为造纸用轧光树脂辊使用后,粘合剂层3的强度和耐久性未出现问题,即使在冬季研磨时也不会特别出现产生裂缝和裂缝扩展等问题。
[比较例]
与实施例1同样制得比较例1的树脂辊。但是,这种情况下,粘合剂的一次固化以筒体1的温度保持为60℃的状态进行。
在与实施例1同样的条件下,将该树脂辊作为造纸用轧光树脂辊使用后,粘合剂层3的强度和耐久性虽然未出现问题,但以树脂辊的外周面出现裂缝的状态进行冬季研磨时,该裂缝会扩展。
接着,采用以下方法进行实施例1~实施例3的树脂辊的耐裂缝性比较试验。即,将各树脂辊的温度定为10℃,采用辊打钉机NV65AF3(日立工机株式会社制),以4kg/cm2的气压在树脂辊表面打上长65mm、直径2.5mm的钉子。其结果是,实施例1的树脂辊在沿辊外周的近1周的地方都出现了裂缝并扩展。实施例2的树脂辊的裂缝扩展约10cm左右。实施例3的树脂辊几乎未见裂缝的扩展。从这些事实可见,实施例3的树脂辊对于耐裂缝性的可靠性最高,其次是实施例2的树脂辊。
如上所述,本发明中以外筒温度保持为相对低的温度的状态使粘合剂一次固化完成整体的粘合一体化,然后在高于第1温度的第2温度下对粘合剂加热使其进行二次固化,所以在金属芯和外筒之间获得足够的粘合强度和耐久性的同时,能够防止辊表面的裂缝的扩展。
以上参考附图对本发明的较好实施例进行了例示,但本发明并不仅限于图示的实施方式。在专利请求范围记载的发明范围内,以及与其等同的范围内的各种修改和变化都在本发明的范围内。
产业上利用的可能性
本发明的树脂辊被用于造纸、炼铁、纤维、磁记录媒体等各种工业,特别是在金属芯和外筒之间能获得足够的粘合强度和耐久性的同时、能够防止辊表面的裂缝的扩展的轧光树脂辊更适合作为造纸用轧光树脂辊使用。

Claims (8)

1.树脂辊的制造方法,它是配置成形为筒状的合成树脂制外筒(1)使其覆盖金属芯(2)的外周,在前述金属芯(2)和前述外筒(1)之间形成的间隙中填入热固型粘合剂(3),使前述粘合剂(3)固化,将整体粘合一体化的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征在于,前述整体的粘合一体化通过将前述外筒(1)的温度保持为第1温度的状态使前述粘合剂(3)完成一次固化而进行,然后,在高于前述第1温度的第2温度对前述粘合剂(3)进行加热使其二次固化。
2.如权利要求1所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述第1温度是低于使用时的树脂辊温度的温度。
3.如权利要求1所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述第1温度在10℃~50℃的范围内。
4.如权利要求1所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述第2温度是高于使用时的树脂辊温度的温度。
5.如权利要求1所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述第2温度在60℃~150℃的范围内。
6.如权利要求1所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述粘合剂(3)的一次固化通过从前述金属芯(2)侧对前述粘合剂加热而进行。
7.如权利要求6所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述粘合剂(3)的一次固化以从外侧冷却前述外筒的状态进行。
8.如权利要求1所述的树脂辊的制造方法,其特征还在于,前述粘合剂的二次固化通过加热该树脂辊整体而进行。
