Le dispositif selon l'invention est carac térisé en ce que la douille constituée par les segments présente un cône intérieur non seu lement à l'une, mais également à l'autre de ses extrémités, l'organe à cône extérieur qui peut être vissé sur la tige ayant un diamètre extérieur plus petit que celui de la douille ;à. l'état. actif et étant. situé du même côté de la, douille que l'organe servant de butée;
Device comprising a member serving as a length stop for parts to be machined while they are fixed in a clamp. The present invention relates to a device comprising a member serving as a length stop for workpieces while they are fixed in a split clamp,
as well as segments of a sleeve split longitudinally and provided with an internal cone cooperating with an external cone of a member which can be screwed onto a central rod carrying the member serving as a stop, with a view to tightening said segments. be the wall of the central bore of the tensioned clamp.
In known devices of this type, the sleeve has only one cone which cooperates with a counter-cone. The sleeve and with it the central rod and the stop member are not centered satisfactorily.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that the sleeve formed by the segments has an internal cone not only at one, but also at the other of its ends, the external cone member which can be screwed on. on the rod having an outside diameter smaller than that of the socket; to. the state. active and being. located on the same side of the sleeve as the member serving as a stop;
while another member with an external cone is mounted non-rotating, but axially movable on said rod and supported by a nut for its clamping against the segments of the sleeve and a. an outer diameter greater than that of the bush in the active state, so that it presents a surface which, by its contact with the clamp, determines the axial position of the rod and of the member forming a stop, compared to this clamp.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the device and also shows in phantom lines the clamp in which this device is fixed.
Figs. 2, 3 and 4 are dirty cross sections taken along lines II-II, III-III and IV-IV, respectively, of fig. 1.
'The device shown in the drawing and -des tiné to be fixed in -a split clamp 1, for example, comprises -a central rod 2 threaded externally over almost its entire. length and having on two sides, diametrically opposed a flat 3. The non-threaded part 4 of the rod has a transverse hole in which can be introduced during assembly a tool 5 used to prevent -a rotation of this rod. At the other end, the rod 2 has a threaded blind hole 6 in which is screwed a member 7 serving as a length stop for parts to be machined on a lathe while they are fixed in the clamp 1.
The central rod 2 carries two members R f and 9 with truncated outer cones, opposite by their vertices and intended to cooperate with inner cones 10, 10 ', respectively, which has at its two ends a split sleeve formed by the assembly of three segments 11 surrounded by a split spring ring 12.
The member 8 with an external cone, that is, the one located on the same side of the sleeve as the member 7 acting as a stop; forms a nut which can be screwed onto the central rod 2. The other member with an external cone, 9, has a hole whose cross section has a shape which matches that of the central rod 2. This other member is therefore mounted non-rotating, but axially movable on the rod 2. It is: supported by a hexagonal nut 13 which can be screwed onto the rod.
While the outer diameter of the member 8 is smaller than that of the central bore 14 of the clamp 1, that is to say of the bush in the active state, the outer diameter of the member 9 is larger than that of this bore. This member 9 thus has a surface 15 which constitutes an extension of the clamping cone and which, by its contact with the clamp 1, determines the axial position of the rod and of the stop member 7, with respect to this pliers.
During assembly of the device, the position of the member 8 is adjusted on the rod 2, introduced. the front part of the device in the bore 14 of the clamp until the surface 15 abuts against the clamp; then the nut 13 is tightened against the member 9 while using the tool 5 to prevent the rod 2 from rotating. The segments 11 are thus clamped against the wall of the bore 14.
The rotary movement of the nut 13 cannot be transmitted by friction to the member 9, then to the segments 11 and to the member 8 which would be screwed onto the rod 2, because the member 9 cannot. turn on the rod. If necessary. It is felt, one can insert thick washers between the head of the screw 7 forming a stop member, on the one hand, and the rod 2, on the other hand.
