Abstract

'PIGMENTOS INORGâNICOS TRATADOS COM SILANOS'' A presente invenção provê um processo para a produção de produtos de óxidos inorgânicos hidrofóbicos, que compreende reagir as partículas do óxido inorgânico com organo-halossilanos, preferivelmente organoclorossilanos, para produzir óxidos inorgânicos hidrofóbicos revestidos com organossilanos. Prefere-se que os compostos organohalossilânicos sejam reagidos com as partículas do óxido inorgânico em uma lama aquosa e submetidos a mistura sob agitação intensa. Os pigmentos de óxidos inorgânicos preparados pelo processo desta invenção possuem retenção essencialmente quantitativa dos organossilanos e não contêm quaisquer aldeídos adsorvidos na sua superfície. Os subprodutos produzidos nas modalidades preferidas da invenção são sais inócuos que são ambientalmente seguros e prontamente descartáveis.
