Fig.1 est une vue de plan

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Simplified gasifier"
The present invention relates to gasifiers and more particularly to gasifiers with bowls, charcoal, etc ...-.- .. for domestic uses and small industry, that is to say in all where it is above all necessary to achieve great simplicity of construction and operation, and
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
to obtain a minimum weight .. '
The gasifier according to the invention is characterized more particularly by a reverse vertical suction of; gas produced by combustion, to obtain, as occurs in large gasifiers, the burning of tar dust during the suction of the gas.
Another characteristic of this gasifier is the injection of air in two forms, dry and wet, this injection taking place, on the one hand, for the dry and heated air, through a central vertical duct opening out at a few. distance from the bottom of the fuel tank; on the other hand, for the air charged with water vapor through side openings located very close to the aforementioned bottom to bring this humid air to the full center of the part of the ignited fuel.
The flow rates at the wet and dry dir nozzles are adjusted either by hand, or automatically, or by final calibration, depending on the type of device. *
The water vapor is supplied by the water reserve contained in a tank forming a partition refractory to the fuel tank. This water being brought to the gaseous state by the absorption of combustion calories, which is located between the vertical dry air nozzle, the bottom of the fuel tank and the exterior walls.
The heated dry air necessary for combustion is obtained by a vacuum cleaner of any kind placed at the gas outlet or by a blower at the inlet of the dry air; it is heated by its passage through the mass of the fuel already strongly heated by radiation.

The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view
Fig. 2 is a section along AA (Fig.l)
The gasifier comprises: A vertical inner cylinder 1 forming a fuel tank and hearth. It is of minimum diameter so that the. combustion zone can occupy all the space limited by the walls of the cylinder ',' 'A circular outer cylinder 2' co-axial with the first and forming the outer envelope of the cooling water layer.
- In the axis of cylinder 1 is arranged an air inlet tube 3 which passes through the fuel reserve 4 comes out through a conical nozzle 5 at a short distance from the bottom, the mesh 6 closing the base of the reservoir cylinder 1.
The cylinder 1 is completely surrounded by water for the purpose of cooling the fuel.
'The gases escape through a cylindrical grid 8' into the annular expansion chamber 9 to which doors such as 10: give access and which serves as a first annex dusting zone.
The aspiration is done through the fuel stock, which forms a stop and rest grid.
The gas produced passes through the! tube bundle 11 in which it cools and becomes dusty; it further purifies by condensation. It thus arrives in a second annular chamber 12 separated from the water chamber by a partition 13 where it abandons by sudden change of speed the 'last

dust before beech sucked further.
The humid air loaded with water vapor in normal operation, which collects under the partition 13, is sucked in through tubes 15 :.
At the outlet of the nozzles 20 is created a second series of combustion zones inclined with respect to the axis of the 1st central combustion which come on the one hand to supply hydrogen and on the other hand to create 2 combustions at temperatures different for mixed gas operation.
- The -16 'tube is only used for ignition. The orifice 17 is closed after use. The ignition is obtained by injecting a little methylated spirits, for example. It is facilitated by an intake of dry air of an easily predictable air velocity high by a suitable choice of nozzle section.
The tubes 11 are cleaned with great ease by the plugs 19. A door 18 allows the sweeping of the chamber 12.
It is understood that the details described have been given only by way of example and that all other equivalents could be substituted for them without departing from the scope of the present invention.
It is understood that the whole mass is in combustion at different temperatures, between the base of the vertical tube and the base of the gasifier, limited in volume by the walls cooled by the water.
The water is thus used for cooling the walls of the fuel tank, for the gas for depuration by condensation and for improving the gas in terms of its calorific value :; We could also ,. arrange the combustion zone horizontally, the humid air inlets being on a horizontal plane located below: the axis of the primary zone for!
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
fill the vertical combustion office. and facilitate, as in the first case, the mixed operation and the burning of tars and dust.
Combustion would in this case be limited by the cooled walls and located at the height of the inlet and outlet nozzles on the one hand, and on the other hand between the stock of fuel which is weight and the bottom of the gasifier without need de, provide ash evacuation grids.
In the single operation in dry air, (this is the case from the start to the moment of ignition) - the combustion zone is limited to the cooled metal walls! without then relying on the secondary zones; we then walk - in lean gas.-
