Brûleur pour un combustible tel que de la sciure. La présente invention a pour objet un brû leur pour un combustible tel que de la sciure, surmonté d'une trémie pour le chargement, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un foyer dans lequel tombe le combustible issu de cette tré mie, ce foyer étant muni d'une chicane et d'une grille inclinée sur lesquelles tombe le combustible qui descend peu à peu au bas de ce foyer en se carbonisant, les produits gazeux de cette carbonisation étant évacués par un gueulard possédant une prise d'air,
le brûleur étant destiné à être utilisé avec une chaudière dans laquelle le gueulard dirigera lesdits pro duits, des moyens étant ménagés pour intro duire l'air nécessaire à ladite carbonisation et pour récupérer une partie de la chaleur pro duite par cette dernière.
Le dessin annexé montre, à titre d'exem ple, une forme d'exécution du brûleur faisant l'objet de l'invention, adaptée à une chaudière.

Le brûleur représenté comprend un foyer 1, alimenté en combustible tel que de @a sciure par une trémie 2. Ce foyer est muni d'une chicane 3 et d'une grille inclinée 4, dont les barreaux 5 sont disposés en escalier, les uns au-dessus des autres. La chicane 3 est consti tuée par un flasque 6 fixé par l'un de ses bords à la parai du foyer, et dont le bord libre comprend un épaississement 7 de forme générale circulaire, à l'intérieur duquel est percé un conduit d'amenée d'air 8, mis en communication par des orifices 9 avec le foyer 1.
L'épaississement 7 comporte, à l'une au moins de ses extrémités, à l'extérieur du foyer 1, un prolongement circulaire 28 muni d'un manchon 10 adapté rotativement; ce der nier possède des orifices 29 destinés à venir en regard d'ouvertures 30 ménagées dans la paroi du prolongement 28, pour relier le con duit 8 avec l'air extérieur et régler l'admis sion de celui-ci.
La chicane 3 est destinée à être chauffée par la chaleur produite par le foyer 1, de manière à assurer la carbonisation et la gazéi fication du combustible tombant de la trémie 2 et venant en contact avec elle.
En regard de l'extrémité inférieure de la grille 4 est ménagé un registre 11 possédant une ouverture réglable pour l'amenée de l'air dans le foyer, les résidus solides prove nant de ce dernier étant évacués par l'inter médiaire d'un cendrier 12.
Les gaz provenant de la carbonisation d'un combustible dans le foyer 1 sont évacués par un gueulard 13 pour être brûlés dans une chaudière 14; à cet effet, des orifices d'ame née d'air sont prévus dans les parois de ce gueulard, à l'intérieur duquel sont disposées deux chicanes 15 percées d'orifices 16 pour le passage de l'air provenant d'ouvertures ré glables 17 ménagées au travers des parois latérales 18 et 19 dudit gueulard;
ce dernier comporte, à sa partie supérieure, deux plaques 20 et 21 présentant une solution de continuité et entre lesquelles est ménagé un espace 22 pour le passage d'une partie de l'air nécessaire à la combustion des produits volatils prove nant du foyer 1.
Les chicanes 15, portées au rouge par la combustion desdits produits volatils, sont des tinées à réchauffer l'air provenant des ouver tures 17.
Une partie du . foyer est entourée d'une double paroi 23 dans laquelle circule de l'eau que des conduits 25 et 26 mettent en commu nication avec l'eau de la chaudière 14, une partie de cette double paroi étant protégée par une garniture 27 en briques réfractaires.
Le brûleur représenté fonctionne comme suit: le combustible provenant de la trémie 2 s'écoule dans le foyer 1 où il commence à se carboniser à la hauteur de la chicane 3 pour continuer le long de la grille 4;
l'air primaire nécessaire à cette carbonisation est fourni par le registre 11 et par les orifices 9 qu'alimente le conduit 8 ménagé dans l'épaississement 7-, les produits gazeux de cette carbonisation sont évacués par le gueulard 13 et s'enflamment au contact de l'air fourni par les orifices 17 et 22 ménagés dans les parois dudit gueulard;
une partie de la chaleur produite par la car bonisation du combustible est récupérée, étant utilisée pour chauffer l'eau contenue dans la double paroi du foyer 1.

The present invention relates to a burner for a fuel such as sawdust, surmounted by a hopper for loading, characterized in that it comprises a hearth into which falls the fuel from this hopper, this hearth being provided with a baffle and an inclined grid on which the fuel falls which gradually descends to the bottom of this hearth while carbonizing, the gaseous products of this carbonization being evacuated through a mouthpiece having an air intake,
the burner being intended for use with a boiler in which the top will direct said products, means being provided for introducing the air necessary for said carbonization and for recovering part of the heat produced by the latter.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the burner forming the subject of the invention, suitable for a boiler.

The burner shown comprises a fireplace 1, supplied with fuel such as sawdust by a hopper 2. This fireplace is provided with a baffle 3 and an inclined grate 4, the bars of which 5 are arranged in a staircase, some above the others. The baffle 3 is constituted by a flange 6 fixed by one of its edges to the side of the hearth, and the free edge of which comprises a thickening 7 of generally circular shape, inside which is pierced a supply duct air 8, placed in communication through orifices 9 with the hearth 1.
The thickening 7 comprises, at at least one of its ends, outside the hearth 1, a circular extension 28 provided with a sleeve 10 adapted to rotate; the latter has orifices 29 intended to come opposite openings 30 formed in the wall of the extension 28, to connect the duct 8 with the outside air and to regulate the admission of the latter.
The baffle 3 is intended to be heated by the heat produced by the furnace 1, so as to ensure the carbonization and gasification of the fuel falling from the hopper 2 and coming into contact with it.
Opposite the lower end of the grid 4 is provided a register 11 having an adjustable opening for the supply of air into the hearth, the solid residues coming from the latter being evacuated through a ashtray 12.
The gases resulting from the carbonization of a fuel in the hearth 1 are discharged through a top 13 to be burned in a boiler 14; for this purpose, air-born orifices are provided in the walls of this throat, inside which are arranged two baffles 15 pierced with orifices 16 for the passage of air from adjustable openings 17 formed through the side walls 18 and 19 of said throat;
the latter comprises, at its upper part, two plates 20 and 21 having a solution of continuity and between which a space 22 is provided for the passage of part of the air necessary for the combustion of the volatile products coming from the hearth 1 .
The baffles 15, made red by the combustion of said volatile products, are designed to heat the air coming from the openings 17.
Part of the. hearth is surrounded by a double wall 23 in which circulates water which conduits 25 and 26 put into communication with the water from the boiler 14, part of this double wall being protected by a lining 27 made of refractory bricks .
The burner shown operates as follows: the fuel coming from the hopper 2 flows into the hearth 1 where it begins to carbonize at the height of the baffle 3 to continue along the grate 4;
the primary air necessary for this carbonization is supplied by the register 11 and by the orifices 9 supplied by the duct 8 formed in the thickening 7-, the gaseous products of this carbonization are evacuated through the mouth 13 and ignite at the contact of the air supplied by the orifices 17 and 22 formed in the walls of said throat;
part of the heat produced by the carbonisation of the fuel is recovered, being used to heat the water contained in the double wall of the fireplace 1.
