Abstract
Description
着色樹脂粒子は、様々な染料により着色することが可能であるが、染料の種類によって粒子に取り込むことができる量に上限があったりする課題がある。全体的な傾向としては、酸性染料は上限の量が低いのが現状である。したがって、発色性能に優れた酸性染料であっても着色樹脂粒子の着色剤として用いた場合には、その特性が充分に発揮できない場合があり、更なる発色性に優れた着色樹脂粒子が切望されているのが現状である。
本発明の筆記具は、上記筆記具用水性インク組成物を搭載したことを特徴とする。
本発明の筆記具用水性インク組成物は、酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料で着色された着色樹脂粒子を含むことを特徴とするものである。
本発明に用いる酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体(造塩化合物)である造塩染料は、酸性染料と塩基性染料を反応させて得られる化合物であり、原料物質である発色の良い酸性染料の特性を低減させることなく、酸性染料及び塩基性染料の双方が優れた分光特性と色純度を有するものである。また、造塩体としての分光調整を、酸性染料と塩基性染料の組み合わせによって行うことができるという長所を有するものである。
さらに、本発明では、酸性染料と塩基性染料との造塩体は、酸性染料の誘導体であるスルホン酸やカルボン酸等の酸性基を有する酸性染料の無機塩、酸性染料と含窒素化合物との塩、酸性染料のスルホンアミド体等のアミド化合物とは異なり、染料イオンがアニオン性である酸性染料と、染料イオンがカチオン性である塩基性染料との化学(造塩)反応により得られる化合物であるため、極めて剛直な構造を取り、化学的に安定性を有している。
また、構造的に安定であるために、耐熱性・耐光性に優れた分光特性を示す。加えて、造塩反応の出発物質である発色の良い酸性染料の特性を低減させることなく、酸性染料と塩基性染料が、それぞれ優れた分光特性と色純度を有するため、造塩反応の出発物質の組み合わせを変えることで任意の分光調整が可能である。さらに、造塩化合物となることによって耐水性などが付与されるため、水を含む溶媒中への分散性に優れたものになる。
酸性染料の中には、直接染料と分類されるものがあり、直接染料は、酸性染料の中でも分子量が大きく平面構造を有し、直接染料と塩基性染料との造塩化合物は、特に耐熱性が優れたものであり、着色樹脂粒子に用いる樹脂粒子のモノマー種などを好適に選択することにより、発色性、耐熱性に優れたものとなる。

用いることができる塩基性染料としては、例えば、ジ及びトリアリールメタン系染料;アジン系(ニグロシンを含む)、オキサジン系、チアジン系等のキノンイミン系染料;キサンテン系染料;トリアゾールアゾ系染料;チアゾールアゾ系染料;ベンゾチアゾールアゾ系染料;アゾ系染料;ポリメチン系、アゾメチン系、アザメチン系等のメチン系染料;アントラキノン系染料;フタロシアニン系染料;アクリジン系染料、ローダミン系染料、トリアリールメタン系染料等の塩基性染料などの少なくとも1種が挙げられ、好ましくは、水溶性の塩基性染料が望ましい。
用いることができる具体的な黄色塩基性染料の例としては、C.I.Basic Yellow 1,2,9,11,12,13,14,15,19,21,23,24,25,28,29,32,33,34,35,36,40,41,51,63,73,80等のCOLOR INDEXに記載されている染料が挙げられる。また、市販されている黄色塩基性染料としては、AIZEN CATHILON YELLOW GPLH、Spillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土谷化学工業社製の商品名)等が挙げられる。
赤色塩基性染料の例としては、C.I. ベーシックレッド(Basic Red)-1、-2、-3、-4、-8、-9、-12、-13、-14、-15、-16、-17、-18、-22、-23、-24、-25、-26、-27、-29、-30、-32、-34、-35、-36、-37、-38、-39、-40、-41、-42、-43、-46、-49、-50、-51、-52、-53等のCOLOR INDEXに記載されている染料が挙げられる。また、市販されている赤色塩基性染料としては、AIZEN CATHILON RED BLH、AIZEN CATHILON RED RHなど(以上、保土谷化学工業社製の商品名)、Diacryl Supra Brilliant Red 2Gなど(三菱化学社製の商品名)、Sumiacryl Red B(住友化学社製の商品名)等が挙げられる。
青色塩基性染料の例としては、C.I. Basic Blue 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,15,18,19,20,21,22,24,25,26,28,29,33,35,37,40,41,42,44,45,46,47,49,50,53,54,58,59,60,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69,70,71,75,77,78,79,82,83,87,88等のCOLOR INDEXに記載されている染料が挙げられる。また、市販されている青色塩基性染料としては、AIZEN CATHILON TURQUOISE BLUE LH(保土谷化学工業社製の商品名)等が挙げられる。
緑色塩基性染料の例としては、C.I. Basic Green 1,4,6,10等のCOLOR INDEXに記載されている染料が挙げられる。また、市販されている緑色塩基性染料としては、Diacryl Supra Brilliant Green 2GL(三菱化学社製の商品名)等が挙げられる。
茶色塩基性染料の例としては、C.I.Basic Brown 1,2,4,5,7,11,12,13,15のCOLOR INDEXに記載されている染料が挙げられる。また、市販されている茶色塩基性染料としては、Janus Brown R(日本化学社製の商品名)、AIZEN CATHILON BROWN GH(保土谷化学工業社製の商品名)等が挙げられる。
黒色塩基性染料の例としては、C.I.Basic Black 1,2,3,7,8等のCOLOR INDEXに記載されている染料或いはニグロシン系塩基性染料が挙げられる。
また、着色樹脂粒子を製造する際に、酸性染料および塩基性染料を混合することで造塩体の作製と着色樹脂粒子の合成を連続的に行うこともできる。
また、本発明では、酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である市販品の造塩染料を用いることもでき、更に、市販品の酸性染料と塩基性染料とを用いて合成した造塩染料も用いることができる。
市販品では、オリヱント化学工業社製のVALIFAST RED 1308(C.I. Acid Yellow 23とC.I. Basic Red 1の造塩体)、VALIFAST RED 1320(C.I. Acid Yellow 42とC.I. Basic Red 1の造塩体)、VALIFAST RED 1355、同1388(共にC.I. Acid Yellow 23とC.I. Basic Red 1の造塩体)、VALIFAST GREEN 1501:(C.I. Acid Yellow 42とC.I. Basic Blue 1の造塩体)、VALIFAST VIOLET 1701(C.I.C.I. Acid Yellow 42とC.I. Basic Violet 1の造塩体)、VALIFAST VIOLET 1704(C.I.Acid Yellow 36とC.I. Basic Violet 1の造塩体)、市販品を合成した造塩染料〔Water Yellow 6C(オリヱント化学工業社製:C.I. Acid Yellow 6C)とSpillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製、塩基性染料)との造塩染料〕、C.I. Acid Blue 9とSpillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製)との造塩染料、C.I. Acid Blue 9とC.I. Basic Violet 1との造塩染料などが挙げられる。
本発明において、着色樹脂粒子は、樹脂粒子が上記酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料で着色されたものであり、例えば、アクリル系の樹脂粒子、酢酸ビニル系の樹脂粒子、ウレタン系の樹脂粒子、スチレン-ブタジエン系の樹脂粒子、スチレンアクリロニトリル系の樹脂粒子が上記酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料で着色されたものが挙げられ、これらは、各アクリル系、酢酸ビニル系、ウレタン系、スチレン-ブタジエン系、スチレンアクリロニトリル系の原料モノマーの少なくとも1種と上記酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料とで構成される各種着色樹脂粒子が挙げられ、好ましくは、染色課程を更に安定化させ、濃度が高く経時安定性、上記造塩染料による発色性に優れる点から、アクリル系の着色樹脂粒子が望ましい。
この造塩染料により着色されたアクリル系の着色樹脂粒子としては、例えば、少なくとも、酸性官能基として水への溶解度が10質量%以下のカルボキシル基含有ビニルモノマーと、アクリル酸又はメタクリル酸と炭素数2~18の直鎖若しくは環状アルコールとのエステルモノマーと、上記酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料とで構成される着色樹脂粒子が挙げられる。
特に好ましくは、描線乾燥性を更に向上させる(メタ)アクリル酸n-ブチル、メタクリル酸ラウリル、メタクリル酸シクロヘキシルの使用が望ましい。
具体的な上記の製造法としては、例えば、上記酸性官能基として水への溶解度が10質量%以下のカルボキシル基含有ビニルモノマーと、上記アクリル酸又はメタクリル酸と炭素数2~18の直鎖若しくは環状アルコールとのエステルモノマーとを含む混合モノマーに上記酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料を溶解し、過硫酸アンモニウム、過硫酸カリウム、過酸化水素などを重合開始剤として、また還元剤を更に併用した重合開始剤とし、更に必要に応じて重合性界面活性剤を用いて乳化重合することなどにより製造することができる。また、上記染色は重合と同時に行ったが、重合後に上記造塩染料を溶解して染色を行っても良い。
なお、ジシクロペンタ(テ)ニル(メタ)アクリレートモノマーには、ジシクロペンタニルアクリレートモノマー、ジシクロペンテニルアクリレート、ジシクロペンタニルメタクリレートモノマー、ジシクロペンテニルメタクリレートを含むものである。
また、上記乳化重合の際には、上記各成分以外に、他の疎水性ビニルモノマーを混合して乳化重合を行ってもよい。用いることができる疎水性ビニルモノマーとしては、特に制限することはなく、例えば、スチレン、メチルスチレンなどのスチレン類などが挙げられる。また、該乳化重合において、エポキシ基、ヒドロキシメチルアミド基、イソシアネート基などの反応性架橋基を有するモノマーや2つ以上のビニル基を有する多官能性モノマーを配合して架橋してもよい。
上記着色樹脂粒子を構成するポリマー成分のうち、更に、前記ジシクロペンタ(テ)ニル(メタ)アクリレートモノマーを用いる場合は、安定性の点、インク性能の更なる向上の点から、その含有量は1~25質量%、更に好ましくは、5~15質量%であることが望ましい。
なお、上記ではアクリル系の着色樹脂粒子を詳述したが、酢酸ビニル系の着色樹脂粒子ウレタン系の着色樹脂粒子、スチレン-ブタジエン系の着色樹脂粒子、スチレンアクリロニトリル系の着色樹脂粒子にあっても、各モノマー原料と上記酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料とで構成される各着色樹脂粒子を製造することができる。
得られる上記着色樹脂粒子は、従来にない発色性に優れた性質を有するものとなり、サインペンやマーキングペン、ボールペンなどの筆記具に好適な筆記具用水性インク組成物の色材として有用となるものである。
本発明の筆記具用水性インク組成物は、上記構成の酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料で着色された着色樹脂粒子を含有するものであり、更に、水溶性有機溶剤と、水を含有することが好ましい。
着色樹脂粒子の含有量は、サインペンやマーキングペン、ボールペンなどの筆記具種により変動するものであり、インク組成物全量に対して、樹脂固形分量で、好ましくは、0.1~30.0質量%、より好ましくは、0.5~20.0質量%とすることが望ましい。
用いることができる水溶性有機溶剤としては、例えば、エチレングリコール、トリエチレングリコール、テトラエチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、ジプロピレングリコール、1,2-プロパンジオール、1,3-プロパンジオール、1,2-ブタンジオール、2,3-ブタンジオール、1,3-ブタンジオール、1,4-ブタンジ オール、1,2-ペンタンジオール、1,5-ペンタンジオール、2,5-ヘキサンジオール、3-メチル1,3-ブタンジオール、2メチルペンタン -2,4-ジオール、3-メチルペンタン-1,3,5トリオール、1,2,3-ヘキサントリオールなどのアルキレングリコール類、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコールなどのポリアルキレングリコール類、グリセロール、ジグリセロール、トリグリセロールなどのグリセロール類、エチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノ-n-ブチルエーテルなどのグリコールの低級アルキルエーテル、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、1,3-ジメチル-2-イミダリジノンなどの少なくとも1種が挙げられる。
これらの水溶性有機溶剤の含有量は、サインペンやマーキングペン、ボールペンなどの筆記具種により変動するものであり、インク組成物全量に対して、1~40質量%、描線乾燥性を更に向上させる点から、10質量%以下としたインク組成に対して特に有効であり、より好ましくは、3~8質量%とすることが望ましい。
例えば、pH調整剤として、アンモニア、尿素、モノエタノールアミン、ジエタノールアミン、トリエタノールアミン、アミノメチルプロパノール、トリポリン酸ナトリウム、炭酸ナトリウムなど炭酸やリン酸のアルカリ金属塩、水酸化ナトリウムなどのアルカリ金属の水酸化物などの少なくとも1種が挙げられる。
防腐剤もしくは防黴剤として、フェノール、ナトリウムオマジン、ペンタクロロフェノールナトリウム、1,2-ベンズイソチアゾリン3-オン、2,3,5,6-テトラクロロ-4(メチルフォニル)ピリジン、安息香酸やソルビン酸やデヒドロ酢酸のアルカリ金属塩、ベンズイミダゾール系化合物などの少なくとも1種が挙げられる。
潤滑剤としてリン酸エステル類、ポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテルなどのポリアルキレングリコール誘導体、脂肪酸アルカリ塩、ノニオン系界面活性剤、パーフルオロアルキルリン酸エステルなどのフッ素系界面活性剤、ジメチルポリシロキサンのポリエチレングリコール付加物などのポリエーテル変性シリコーンなどの少なくとも1種が挙げられる。
本発明の筆記具は、上記構成の筆記具用水性インク組成物を搭載したことを特徴とするものである。
具体的には、上記構成の筆記具用水性インク組成物は、ボールペンチップ、繊維チップ、フェルトチップ、プラスチックチップなどのペン先部を備えたボールペン、マーキングペン等に搭載される。
ボールペンとしては、上記組成の筆記具用水性インク組成物を直径が0.18~2.0mmのボールを備えたボールペン用インク収容体(リフィール)に収容すると共に、該インク収容体内に収容された水性インク組成物とは相溶性がなく、かつ、該水性インク組成物に対して比重が小さい物質、例えば、ポリブテン、シリコーンオイル、鉱油等がインク追従体として収容されるものが挙げられる。
なお、ボールペン、マーキングペンの構造は、特に限定されず、例えば、軸筒自体をインク収容体として該軸筒内に上記構成の筆記具用水性インク組成物を充填したコレクター構造(インク保持機構)を備えた直液式のボールペン、マーキングペンであってもよいものである。
このように構成される筆記具では、上述の発色性に優れた筆記具用水性インク組成物を搭載しているので、発色性に優れた所望の鮮やかな色(黄色、赤色、青色、黒色等)のサインペンやマーキングペン、ボールペンなどの筆記具が得られることとなる。
下記着色樹脂粒子を製造する際に、酸性染料および塩基性染料を混合することで造塩体(造塩染料)の作製と着色樹脂粒子の合成を連続的に行うことにより着色樹脂粒子1を得た。
2リットルのフラスコに、撹拌機、還流冷却器、温度計、窒素ガス導入管、モノマー投入用1000ml分液漏斗を取り付け、温水槽にセットし、蒸留水500g、重合性界面活性剤〔アデカ社製、「アデカリアソープSE-10N」〕50gおよび過硫酸アンモニウム3gを仕込んで、窒素ガスを導入しながら、内温を50℃まで昇温した。
一方、フタル酸-2-メタクリロイルオキシエチル〔三菱レイヨン(株)製、アクリルエステルPA、水への溶解度:0.08質量%〕300g、メタクリル酸n-ブチル200gからなる混合モノマー500gに、酸性染料として、Water Yellow 6C(オリヱント化学工業社製:アシッドイエロー6C)20g、塩基性染料としてSpillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製)25gを混合した液を調製した。
この調製液を上記分液漏斗から温度50℃付近に保った上記フラスコ内に撹拌下で3時間にわたって添加し、乳化重合を行った。さらに5時間熟成して重合を終了し、着色樹脂粒子の分散液を得た。
上記製造例1において、酸性染料として、C.I.Acid Blue 9:20g、塩基性染料として、Spillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製)25gに代えて上記製造例1と同様にして着色樹脂粒子2を得た。
上記製造例1において、酸性染料として、C.I.Acid Yellow 42:18g、塩基性染料として、C.I.Basic Violet 1:22gに代えて上記製造例1と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子3を得た。
上記製造例1において、酸性染料(Water Yellow 6C(オリヱント化学工業社製:アシッドイエロー6C)20g、塩基性染料〔Spillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製)〕25gに代えて、造塩染料として、オリヱント化学工業社製のVALIFAST RED 1308(C.I.Acid Yellow 23とC.I.Basic Red 1の造塩体)45gを用いて、上記製造例1と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子4を得た。
上記製造例4において、造塩染料として、オリヱント化学工業社製のVALIFAST RED 1320(C.I.Acid Yellow 42とC.I.Basic Red 1の造塩体)45gに代えて、上記製造例4と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子5を得た。
上記製造例4において、造塩染料として、オリヱント化学工業社製のVALIFAST GREEN 1501(C.I.Acid Yellow 42とC.I.Basic Blue 1の造塩体)45gに代えて、上記製造例4と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子6を得た。
上記製造例4において、造塩染料として、オリヱント化学工業社製のVALIFAST VIOLET 1701(C.I.Acid Yellow 42とC.I.Basic Violet 1との造塩体)45gに代えて、上記製造例4と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子7を得た。
上記製造例4において、造塩染料として、オリヱント化学工業社製のVALIFAST VIOLET 1704(C.I.Acid Yellow 36とC.I.Basic Violet 1との造塩体)45gに代えて、上記製造例1と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子8を得た。
上記製造例1において、塩基性染料〔Spillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製)〕25gを用いずに、酸性染料(Water Yellow 6C(オリヱント化学工業社製:アシッドイエロー6C)40gを用いて、上記製造例1と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子9を得た。
上記製造例2において、塩基性染料〔Spillon Yellow C-GNH-new(保土ケ谷化学社製)〕25gを用いずに、酸性染料C.I.Acid Blue 9 45gを用いて、上記製造例2と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子10を得た。
上記製造例3において、塩基性染料〔C.I.Basic Violet 1〕22gを用いずに、酸性染料C.I.Acid Yellow 42:45gを用いて、上記製造例3と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子11を得た。
上記製造例4において、造塩染料(VALIFAST RED 1308)を酸性染料C.I.Acid Yellow 23:45gに代えて、上記製造例4と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子12を得た。
上記製造例8において、造塩染料(VALIFAST VIOLET 1704)を酸性染料C.I.Acid Yellow 36:45gに代えて、上記製造例8と同様にして、着色樹脂粒子13を得た。
上記製造例1~8及び比較製造例1~5で得られた各着色樹脂粒子の分散液を用いて下記に示す配合処方にしたがって、常法により各筆記具用水性インク組成物を調製した。
各水性インク用着色樹脂粒子の分散液は、平均粒子径は30~500nmの範囲であり、樹脂固形分も30質量%の範囲内であった。
(配合組成)
各水性インク用着色樹脂粒子の分散液 50質量%
pH調整剤(トリエタノールアミン) 1質量%
水溶性有機溶剤(エチレングリコール) 5質量%
イオン交換水 44質量%
下記表1に実施例1~8及び比較例1~5の各評価結果を示す。
マーキングペン〔三菱鉛筆株式会社製、商品名:プロパス・ウインド PUS-102T、ペン先、太:PE樹脂、細:PET繊維〕に上記実施例1~8及び比較例1~5で製造した各インク組成物を装填してマーキングペンを作製した。
上記で得た実施例1~8及び比較例1~5で調製した各インク組成物を装填したマーキングペンを用いてPPC用紙に筆記して、下記評価基準で評価した。
評価基準:
A:濃度が高い発色
B:濃度がやや低い発色
C:濃度が薄い、或いは着色が不完全
Claims (2)
- 酸性染料と塩基性染料の造塩体である造塩染料で着色された着色樹脂粒子を含むことを特徴とする筆記具用水性インク組成物。
- 請求項1記載の筆記具用水性インク組成物を搭載したことを特徴とする筆記具。
