Abstract
Description
近年、ディスプレイの高輝度化に伴い、光学レンズの輝度を向上させるという試みがなされており、この目的のため例えば高屈折率樹脂に金属酸化物の微粒子を分散させた技術(特許文献1)が検討されている。
すなわち、本発明は、
(1)金属酸化物(A)と芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)と光重合開始剤(C)とを含有する活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)であって、上記活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の25℃での屈折率が1.56~1.70であり、上記活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の全光線透過率が90%以上であることを特徴とする活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物;
(2)上記本発明の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を硬化させてなる硬化物;
(3)上記本発明の硬化物を用いた光学部品;
(4)並びに、上記本発明の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を製造する方法であって、金属アルコキシド(a1)と水とのモル比が、金属アルコキシド(a1)/水=2.0~200となるように上記金属アルコキシド(a1)および上記水を、芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)に加えて反応液とする反応液作製工程と、上記反応液中の上記金属アルコキシド(a1)と上記水とを反応させて金属酸化物(A)とする反応工程と、上記反応液に、光重合開始剤(C)を加える光重合開始剤添加工程とを含むことを特徴とする活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の製造方法である。
本明細書において屈折率とは、25℃における、波長589nmの光の屈折率のことを意味する。
本明細書において全光線透過率とは、JIS-K7105に準拠して測定された全光線透過率のことを意味する。
金属酸化物(A)が、芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)との相溶性に優れると、活性エネルギー線硬化性(D)の屈折率が高くなる。
屈折率の観点から、金属酸化物(A)としては、例えば、ジルコニウム、チタン、ハフニウム、亜鉛、アルミニウム、ガリウム、インジウム、ゲルマニウムおよびスズの酸化物が挙げられる。
金属アルコキシド(a1)としては、例えば、チタンアルコキシド、ジルコニウムアルコキシド、ハフニウムアルコキシド、亜鉛アルコキシド、アルミニウムアルコキシド、ガリウムアルコキシド、インジウムアルコキシド、ゲルマニウムアルコキシド、スズアルコキシド等が挙げられる。
ジルコニウムアルコキシドとしては、例えば、ジルコニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシドが挙げられ、チタンアルコキシドとしては、例えば、チタニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシドが挙げられる。
上記モル比が2.0未満であると、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の透明性が不充分となる。
また、上記モル比が200を超えると、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の屈折率が低くなる。
金属酸化物(A)の平均粒子径が、10nm以下であると全光線透過率が高くなるという効果を奏する。
なお、本明細書において、「金属酸化物(A)の平均粒子径が、10nm以下である」とは、動的光散乱法による測定で、金属酸化物(A)の平均粒子径が10nm以下の数値として分析されること、または、動的光散乱法による測定において、金属酸化物(A)の平均粒子径が検出限界未満の大きさと分析されることを意味する。
芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)としては、分子内にオキシアルキレン基を有する(メタ)アクリレートであることが望ましい。また、上記オキシアルキレン基はオキシエチレン基であることがより望ましい。
このような芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)としては、例えば、ベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、フェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、o-、m-またはp-フェニルフェノールのモノ(メタ)アクリレート、3,3’-ジフェニル-4,4’-ジヒドロキシビフェニルのモノ(メタ)アクリレート、ノニルフェノキシポリエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート、ビスフェノールAのエチレンオキサイド付加物のジ(メタ)アクリレート、フルオレンのエチレンオキサイド付加物のジ(メタ)アクリレート等が挙げられる。
これらの中で更に好ましいのは、フェノキシエチルアクリレート、o-フェニルフェノキシエチルアクリレート、エチレンオキサイド6モル付加フルオレンアクリレート、エチレンオキサイド10モル付加フルオレンアクリレートである。
芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)がこれらの化合物であると、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の屈折率が好適に高くなる。
光重合開始剤(C)としては、例えば、フォスフィンオキサイド系化合物(C1)、ベンゾイルホルメート系化合物(C2)、チオキサントン系化合物(C3)、オキシムエステル系化合物(C4)、ヒドロキシベンゾイル系化合物(C5)、ベンゾフェノン系化合物(C6)、ケタール系化合物(C7)、1,3αアミノアルキルフェノン系化合物(D8)等が挙げられる。
金属酸化物(A)の含有量が50重量%以下であると、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の透明性が充分となる。
芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)の含有量が、上記範囲であると、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の屈折率が充分に高くなる。
光重合開始剤(C)の含有量が、上記範囲であると、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の硬化性が良好になり、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の透明性が良好になる。
添加剤としては、例えば、可塑剤、有機溶剤、分散剤、消泡剤、チクソトロピー性付与剤(増粘剤)、スリップ剤、酸化防止剤、ヒンダードアミン系光安定剤および紫外線吸収剤が挙げられる。
これらの活性エネルギー線のうち硬化性と樹脂劣化の観点から好ましいのは紫外線と電子線である。
使用するランプとしては、例えば高圧水銀灯や、メタルハライドランプ等が挙げられる。紫外線の照射量は、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の硬化性および硬化物の可撓性の観点から好ましくは10~10,000mJ/cm2であり、更に好ましくは100~5,000mJ/cm2である。
すなわち、活性エネルギー線照射工程の前に、微細な凹凸構造を有する平らな金型に本発明の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を配置する配置工程を含んでいてもよい。
この工程の後、活性エネルギー線照射工程を行うことにより活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を硬化させ、金型から硬化物を離型することにより光学レンズを製造することができる。
上記配置工程では金型の温度を予め20~50℃にして活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を配置することが好ましく、25~40℃にして活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を配置することがより好ましい。
このように配置された活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、その後の活性エネルギー線照射工程を経て硬化物となり、該硬化物を金型から離型することにより光学レンズシートとすることができる。
すなわち、本発明の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、光学部品用の材料として用いることができる。
本発明の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の製造方法は、金属アルコキシド(a1)と水とのモル比が、金属アルコキシド(a1)/水=2.0~200となるように上記金属アルコキシド(a1)および上記水を、芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)に加えて反応液とする反応液作製工程と、上記反応液中の上記金属アルコキシド(a1)と上記水とを反応させて金属酸化物(A)とする反応工程と、上記反応液に、光重合開始剤(C)を加える光重合開始剤添加工程とを含むことを特徴とする。
上記モル比が2.0未満であると、後の工程を経て製造された活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の透明性が不充分となる。
また、上記モル比が200を超えると、後の工程を経て製造された活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の屈折率が低くなる。
上記反応液作製工程で用いる、芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)としては、例えば、ベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、フェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、o-、m-またはp-フェニルフェノールのモノ(メタ)アクリレート、3,3’-ジフェニル-4,4’-ジヒドロキシビフェニルのモノ(メタ)アクリレートおよびノニルフェノキシポリエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート、ビスフェノールAのエチレンオキサイド付加物のジ(メタ)アクリレート、フルオレンのエチレンオキサイド付加物のジ(メタ)アクリレートが挙げられる。
有機アミンとしては、脂肪族アミン、脂環族アミン、芳香族アミン、もしくは複素環アミン等が挙げられる。
脂肪族アミンとしては、ヘキシルアミン、オクチルアミン、メチルヘキシルアミン、メチルオクチルアミン、ジメチルヘキシルアミン、ジメチルオクチルアミン、ジメチルラウリルアミン、ジメチルセチルアミン、トリメチルアミンおよびトリエチルアミン等のアルキル基の炭素数が1~18のモノ-、ジ-およびトリ-アルキルアミン等が挙げられる。
脂環族アミンとしては、シクロブチルアミン、シクロヘキシルアミン、シクロペンチルアミン、シクロオクチルアミン、N-メチルシクロヘキシルアミンおよびN-エチルシクロヘキシルアミン等のシクロアルキル基の炭素数が4~12のシクロアルキルアミンおよびこれらのアルキル(炭素数1~6)置換体等が挙げられる。
芳香族アミンとしてはアニリン、ジフェニルアミン等の炭素数が6~18の芳香族アミン等が挙げられる。
複素環アミンとしては、モルホリン等の炭素数が4~10の複素環アミン等が挙げられる。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、o-フェニルフェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-1)[商品名:KOMERATE-A011、KPX Green Chemical Co.,Ltd.製]80.0部、水0.01部およびトリエチルアミン(a2-2)0.05部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、ジルコニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-1)[商品名:TBZR、日本曹達(株)製]20.0部を仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させた。その後2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド(C1-1)[商品名「ルシリンTPO」、BASF社製]2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D-1)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-2)[商品名:ライトアクリレートPOA、共栄社化学(株)製]45.0部、エチレンオキサイド10モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-4)[商品名:KOMERATE-D104、KPX Green Chemical Co.,Ltd.製]40.0部、水0.1部およびトリエチルアミン(a2-2)0.03部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、チタニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-2)[商品名:B-1、日本曹達(株)製]を15.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後ビス(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)-フェニルフォスフィンオキサイド(C1-2)[商品名「イルガキュアー819」、BASF社製]2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D-2)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、o-フェニルフェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-1)40.0部、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-2)10.0部、エチレンオキサイド6モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-3)[商品名:KOMERATE-D064、KPX Green Chemical Co.,Ltd.製]20.0部、水0.05部およびトリメチルアミン(a2-1)0.05部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、ジルコニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-1)を30.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド(C1-1)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D-3)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、o-フェニルフェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-1)70.0部、エチレンオキサイド6モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-3)10.0部、水0.05部およびトリメチルアミン(a2-1)0.05部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、チタニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-2)を20.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(C5-1)[商品名「イルガキュア184」、BASF社製]2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D-4)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-2)70.0部、水0.1部およびトリメチルアミン(a2-1)0.05部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、ジルコニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-1)を40.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後ビス(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)-フェニルフォスフィンオキサイド(C1-2)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D-5)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-2)45.0部、エチレンオキサイド10モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-4)40.0部、ビス(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)-フェニルフォスフィンオキサイド(C1-2)3.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D’-1)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-2)45.0部、エチレンオキサイド10モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-4)40.0部、酸化チタン微粒子(A-1)[商品名:MT-01、テイカ(株)製]2.0部、ビス(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)-フェニルフォスフィンオキサイド(C1-2)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D’-2)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-2)45.0部、エチレンオキサイド10モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-4)40.0部、酸化チタン微粒子(A-1)5.0部、2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド(C1-1)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D’-3)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、o-フェニルフェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-1)70.0部、エチレンオキサイド6モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-3)10.0部、水5.0部およびトリエチルアミン(a2-2)0.05部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、ジルコニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-1)を20.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド(C1-1)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D’-4)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、o-フェニルフェノキシエチルアクリレート(B-1)70.0部、エチレンオキサイド6モル付加フルオレンアクリレート(B-3)10.0部、水0.003部およびトリエチルアミン(a2-2)を0.05部仕込み30分間攪拌した後、ジルコニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-1)20.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド(C1-1)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D’-5)を得た。
撹拌機、冷却管および温度計を備えた反応容器に、ジメチロールトリシクロデカンジアクリレート(B’-1)80.0部、水0.05部およびトリエチルアミン(a2-2)0.05部を仕込み30分間攪拌した後、チタニウムテトラ-n-ブトキシド(a1-2)を20.0部仕込み、65℃で2時間反応させ、その後2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド(C1-1)2.0部を加え、65℃で均一になるまで混合攪拌し、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D’-6)を得た。
なお、有機溶剤を含有する実施例および比較例については、エバポレーターで充分に有機溶剤を揮発させた後に評価を行った。
実施例1~5および比較例1~6の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の屈折率を25℃の環境下で屈折率計[商品名:アッベ屈折率計4T、(株)アタゴ製]を用いて測定した。
厚さ1mmのスライドガラスの上に、2cm四方を刳り抜いた厚さ100μmのシリコンゴムを置き、刳り抜いた部分に各実施例および各比較例の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を流し込んだ。次に、別の厚さ1mmのスライドガラスを、流し込んだ活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物の上に置き、各スライドグラスの両端をクリップで固定した。その後、JIS-K7105に準拠し、全光線透過率測定装置[商品名「haze-garddual」、BYK gardner(株)製]を用いて全光線透過率(%)を測定した。
なお、本発明の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、全光線透過率は90%以上であることが必要である。
活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物をガラス板の片面に厚さが20μmになるようにアプリケーターで塗工した後、厚さ100μmのPETフィルム[商品名「コスモシャインA4300」東洋紡績(株)製]を活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物側に貼り合わせ、ローラーを上から転がして空気を押し出した。PETフィルム側から紫外線照射装置により、紫外線を1000mJ/cm2照射して、活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物を硬化させた。PETフィルムに密着した硬化物をガラス板から剥離し、テストピースを作製した。
前記テストピースを23℃、相対湿度50%の環境下で24時間静置した後、JIS K5600-5-6に準拠し、1mm幅にカッターナイフで切込みを入れて碁盤目(10×10個)を作製し、該碁盤目上にセロハン粘着テープを貼り付け90度剥離を行い、PETフィルムからの硬化物の剥離状態を目視で観察し、以下の基準で評価した。
B:100個の碁盤目のうち10~89個が剥離せずに基材に残っている
C:100個の碁盤目のうち9個以下が剥離せずに基材に残っている
(1)溝の深さが50μmでピッチ幅を20μmで平行線を刻んで微細に凹凸処理を施したステンレス製の金型を用意した。
(2)活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物をこの金型の片面に厚さが100μmになるようにアプリケーターで塗工した後、厚さ100μmのPETフィルム[商品名「コスモシャインA4300」東洋紡績(株)製]を活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物側に貼り合わせ、ローラーを上から転がして空気を押し出した。PETフィルム側から紫外線照射装置[型番「VPS/I600」、フュージョンUVシステムズ(株)製]により、紫外線を1000mJ/cm2照射して、硬化させ、膜状の硬化物を作製した。
(3)膜状の硬化物の表面を、クロムキャップを装着した鉛筆を用いてJIS K 5600-5-4に準拠して引っかき試験を行った。
(4)引っかき試験後の膜状の硬化物の表面を目視で観察し、下記の基準で判定した。
A:引っかき傷が3秒以内で完全に消失している
B:引っかき傷が3秒経ってもその一部が残っている
C:引っかき傷が3秒経っても全て残っている
一方、金属酸化物(A)を含まない比較例1の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、屈折率が1.56未満であり、密着性が不良であり、傷の回復性も不充分である。
比較例2の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、屈折率が1.56未満であった。
比較例3の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、透明性が90%未満であった。
比較例4の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、透明性が90%未満であった。
比較例5の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、屈折率が1.56未満であった。
芳香環を含まない(メタ)アクリレートを用いた比較例6の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物は、屈折率が1.56未満であった。
本発明の硬化物が用いられる光学部品としては、光学レンズ、光学レンズシートまたはフィルムが挙げられ、より詳しくは、例えば、プラスチックレンズ(プリズムレンズ、レンチキュラーレンズ、マイクロレンズ、フレネルレンズ、視野角向上レンズ等)、光学補償フィルム、位相差フィルム、プリズム、光ファイバー、フレキシブルプリント配線用ソルダーレジスト、メッキレジスト、多層プリント配線板用層間絶縁膜、感光性光導波路等が挙げられる。
Claims (12)
- 金属酸化物(A)と芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)と光重合開始剤(C)とを含有する活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)であって、前記活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の25℃での屈折率が1.56~1.70であり、前記活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物(D)の全光線透過率が90%以上であることを特徴とする活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物。
- 前記金属酸化物(A)の含有量が前記金属酸化物(A)と前記芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)との合計重量に基づいて15~50重量%である請求項1記載の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物。
- 金属酸化物(A)が、金属アルコキシド(a1)と水とを、モル比が金属アルコキシド(a1)/水=2.0~200となるように、芳香環骨格を有する(メタ)アクリレート(B)中で反応させることにより生成した金属酸化物である請求項1または2記載の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物。
- 前記金属アルコキシド(a1)がチタンアルコキシド、ジルコニウムアルコキシド、ハフニウムアルコキシド、亜鉛アルコキシド、アルミニウムアルコキシド、ガリウムアルコキシド、インジウムアルコキシド、ゲルマニウムアルコキシドおよびスズアルコキシドからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種である請求項3記載の活性エネルギー線硬化性組成物。
